Level 400 UENR student commits suicide

Godfred Akomaning, commonly known as ‘Immortal Legend,’ a Level 400 Petroleum Engineering student at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), has died by suicide.

According to reports, the Level 400 UENR student commits suicide after ingesting weedicide.

Reports gathered from the six-page memoir Godfred left behind, he explained that he had been struggling with serious mental health issues long before arriving at university.

In a post shared by ASKghmedia, they wrote, “Godfred Akomaning, aka ‘Immortal Legend,’ a Level 400 Petroleum Engineering student at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and a national debate champion at the 2025 Ghana Universities Debate Championship, has died by suicide after ingesting weedicide.

In a six-page memoir he left behind, Godfred explained that he had been struggling with serious mental health issues long before arriving at university.

None of his friends was aware of his struggles, and his family offered no meaningful support. As a result, his condition steadily worsened until it finally overwhelmed him, leading to this tragic decision.

“I struggled from level 300 to 400, and all along the gym was my best therapy….Anytime I felt I was losing myself, I just went on a jog or rushed to the gym…RIP Technologian, sorry that your family deserted you…many families always do, especially mine too”, a netizen added.

One more X user wrote, “Hmmm. This is heartbreaking. No one should ever go through this. Speak to someone as and when you need it for we do not know when the situation we are going through will worsen.

Additionally, a netizen added, “Hmm, while it’s sad, I still believe no one, I mean no one, should be this selfish to cause such pain to friends and family. Can’t say he should rest in peace.
