Following the burial of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, there are still ongoing controversies surrounding the post-burial ceremony and where he was buried.
In a latest development, a video has surfaced from a family meeting where a woman appears possessed by the spirit of the late Daddy Lumba, addressing a plot to remove the family head Abusuapanin Tupac over unresolved burial disputes.
In the viral video shared on X, the alleged old woman possessed by Lumba’s spirit stated, “I have been buried in the house I lived in at Accra, that is where he buried me. This is Lumba speaking. God has sent this woman to bring me home, so whatever the woman is saying is the truth.
Bring me back home, if you will not bring me back home, look for where this woman is staying, because the woman who is speaking is the one who will let angels take my soul back home to join the family. So that I will be able to go to the other world. Because where I am, what to eat and what to drink, I do not have, but if I am brought home, I will get something to eat and drink”.
The woman was later quizzed on whether Lumba died because of a sickness or not. She stated, “Whether someone killed me or not, it will be known for all those still living on earth, so be patient”.
The old woman possessed by Lumba further added that when the family asked the Abusuapanin where Lumba was buried, and he refused to disclose it to them, they should not quarrel with him, adding that they can call on God to sit with him to ask him.
In related news, an aunt of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba has said the family is distressed over their inability to access his body.
The aunt expressed dissatisfaction with the family head for preventing them from seeing Lumba’s body or knowing where he was buried.
According to her, they are being tormented by Daddy Lumba’s ‘ghost’.
Addressing the media on February 17, 2026, she stated, “Abusuapanyin disappointed us, and it’s a big disgrace to us, the family. I’ve never seen or heard before that someone will die and we can’t see his body till date”.
“We are really suffering. When you’re sleeping, he would just be on you. His ghost keeps tormenting us. We are pleading to everyone to put us into prayers,” she stated.
The aunt of Lumba added, “There’s a lot going on, and everyone has something to say. For us, we are behind the truth. Since the family is divided, some are happy, and others too are sad,” she shared.
“I’m a busy person, but I’m here because of the love I have for the family. Some of you are not family members, but we’ve seen the love you’ve been showing us, and we appreciate you all,” she said.
“We will try as much as we can, no matter what, to find Daddy Lumba’s body,” she added.
Also, a family member, speaking on behalf of the entire Ekuona family of Parkoso, has blown an alarm on Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu’s refusal to render accountability after the funeral ceremony.
They demanded that Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu present a successor to the late Daddy Lumba and also demanded that he disclose the burial site of the late musician.
The family have accused Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu of not burying Daddy Lumba in Parkoso, warning that if he fails to disclose the burial site, they will have no choice but to remove him from his position as family head.
