Man arrested along with NDC Youth Organiser hopeful cries like a baby

A video has surfaced online showing one suspect arrested alongside the NDC Ashanti Regional Organiser hopeful, Reagan Amponsah Asare, bursting into tears.

Reports suggest the suspect burst into tears while police officials took their mugshots after they were arrested.

The suspects were arrested for allegedly impersonating National Security operatives to extort money from illegal miners in the Western North Region.

The suspects have since been remanded into police custody by the Bodi Circuit Court as investigations into their activities continue.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the development stated, “Everybody is a National Security Operative under the NDC.

That’s how they brand themselves when you meet them”.

“He thought that because his party is in power, he could misbehave and not be touched. Rubbish. Next time, go and mess with the law”, a netizen added.

“Aban papa aba. Whether you are in the NPP or the NDC, when you go against the law, we arrest and prosecute you.

Unlike our brothers some time back, you could murder someone, but nothing would happen to you, only because you are in their party”, a netizen added.

One X user added, “This guy would have made some good money from his operations, pumped it into the elections, and definitely won it. Then one day this idiot will be appointed to some higher institution or maybe a minister’s office. Just imagine”.

An X user added, “He just reflected on all the things he’s going to miss out on, including his girlfriend Toto, wey another man go service before he comes back out. Charley being locked up no be joke ooo”.

“Ah, they have been arrested for extorting money from illegal miners and acting as national security personnel, so did they arrest and trace the illegal miners they have been blackmailing??

they can use them to get to the illegal miners, or they just arrested these people”, one last netizen added.

In related news, Col Dominic Buah, the Director of Operations at the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), has begged for financial support in their operations against illegal mining (galamsey).

NAIMOS are calling for increased logistical and financial support to strengthen its anti-galamsey operations.

According to Col. Dominic Buah, NAIMOS’s work is constrained by limited resources, particularly operational vehicles.

They called on corporate organisations and non-governmental organisations to assist the Secretariat.

Speaking at an editors’ forum on Wednesday, March 25, Colonel Buah stated, “We need vehicles, we need money, we need all the resources”.

“Corporate bodies who want to support, why not? We will acknowledge you and then make it known to the whole nation,” he added.
