The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man in his late 30s for allegedly murdering his girlfriend.
Reports suggest that the murder happened in Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta, a community in the Central Region.
The victim has been identified as Sister Yaa.
According to reports, the deceased victim was cut on the face with a cutlass by the accused, and he also hit Sister Yaa’s head on a block.
The suspect is said to be in Police custody as the investigation into the murder case proceeds.
In a Facebook post by GHOne TV on January 7, 2025 stated, “A man in his late 30s has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Sister Yaa, at Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta, Central Region.
Police say he attacked her after she denied him sex, cutting her face with a cutlass and smashing her head with a concrete block. The suspect is in custody, and investigations are ongoing…”
Some netizens reacting to the tragic news stated, “As a lady, don’t just date any imbecile. Date an emotionally mature man, has self-discipline and composure and knows that sex is not everything in a relationship. May her soul rest in peace”.
Another Facebook user added, “Eeeiiiish !!! This reminds me of a police guy I started a relationship with who was far north. I travelled from Volta to Yendi to spend some time with him only to get there early morning so tired and this guy wanted to sleep with me and when I refused and told him I just got here and am even tired he got angry and left me in the room all by myself without food. He didn’t even show me where I would take my bath. I saw that as a big red flag. Thankfully, I had my own money, so I quickly jumped into the next bus back to Accra”.
“Hmm, this reminds me of my ex. He will always want to have sex with me even when I am not in the mood. All he thinks about is sex. When u refuse, he gets very angry”, another Facebook user added.
One more Ghanaian added, “This should be a lesson to all, if a girl is stressing you, bro, try another date ohk don’t kill yourself. See how the guy killed her girlfriend, and the police have arrested him, just imagine all because of fvck sex”
“This Central Region seems to be producing evil news more than any other region in Ghana. Every other week, there’s always bad news from that particular Region”, a netizen noted.
One last netizen added, “Some people are really dating wild animals ooo.. The man is absolutely mad, he needs to be checked ked otherwise he would even kill some one in the prison yard”.
