The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) Deputy Director, Alexander Twum Barimah, has revealed that a manager of a hugely popular Ghanaian packaged food brand has been remanded in custody for allegedly attempting to traffic cocaine out of Ghana.

According to the Narcotic Control Deputy Director, the manager of the unnamed product brand, which is widely consumed in Ghana, concealed substances believed to be cocaine in the products and was arrested at the airport.

The NACOC Deputy Director, in an interview, however, refused to name the Ghanaian packaged food brand.

Saddick Adams, who shared the news in a post, stated, “A manager of a ‘hugely popular Ghanaian packaged food brand’ has been remanded in custody for allegedly attempting to traffic cocaine out of Ghana.

Narcotic Control Deputy Director told Angel TV that the manager of the unnamed product brand, which is widely consumed in Ghana, concealed substances believed to be cocaine in the products and was arrested at the airport”.

However, speaking on Angel TV, the Narcotic Control Deputy Director stated, “We have caught one boy, the company I do not want to mention his name, if I mention their name, their company will collapse. Their product a lot of people purchase it, and they have a lot of adverts out there, and your station even advertises for them.

We invited the management to their office not long ago. Somebody concealed in the package of that product. The person uses two different brands of product”.

He added, “The first time, we did not know it was him. The first one is a product maybe you have used today, but I will not mention the name. The two brands are popular in Ghana; the person packages his own.

When we arrested him, our checks showed that he had a machine he used for his packages and seal it. The first time we caught the product, we did not get the suspect, because he uses different means. So, last year, after the test, we kept the report, so just recently we caught another product. These two products they are not the manufacturer. The two companies are in Tema, that I can tell you, but won’t mention the name”.

Meanwhile, the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has revealed they have arrested a Notorious drug ‘queen’ in a major operation in Buduburam in Gomoa East Municipal of the Central Region.
