Ghanaian musician, Belinda Ekuah Amoah, popularly known as Mzbel, has cried out about being dumped by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) after campaigning for the party to regain power.

Mzbel expressed her frustration and disappointment, stating that her government is in power but has not been given any work.

According to Mzbel, she does not even want an appointment as she does not have time, as a musician, she only wants to be on numerous government-hosted entertainment events.

Speaking in a video shared on TikTok on March 22, 2026, Mzbel cried out, saying, “I am crying because my government is in power, yet they have not given me any work. I’m not even referring to appointments or office roles because I don’t have time for that. I am a musician, and this government has hosted numerous entertainment events.

“How many of them have you seen me perform at? All I expected was that after actively campaigning, they would give me shows to perform,” she said.

“No party has bought me a house or a car. The house I live in was built by me, and I bought my own car. I don’t understand why people think I cannot afford these things.

“I am a musician, and although I am not materialistic, everything I need in life, I have worked for. The party hasn’t even given me gigs where I can render my services and get paid, so how would they buy me a house or a car?” she added.

In related news,  Mzbel had earlier cried out, accusing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership of using and dumping her after winning the 2024 elections.

Mzbel revealed that NDC party officials were easily accessible during the campaign season, but are now refusing to answer her calls or return messages and those who do rudely speak to her.

According to Mzbel, she made some promises to degree holders who accompanied her to the campaign, and some now believe she has been sorted out, abandoning them to their fate, adding that she has not received anything from all the campaigning she did for the NDC.

Mzbel revealed that degree holders who followed her during the campaign are pressuring her to demand jobs.

The musician revealed she runs a restaurant business and was seeking government catering services, but has been snubbed.

Speaking on Accra-based Aluta FM, Mzbel explained, “It is not that easy, as I am sitting here, I have not been told anything, I have lobbied for some contracts because I have a restaurant, and the government sometimes organises food to be supplied, I have chased that contract, but I have been snubbed.

I know everybody at the party, I know all the big men at the party, and I have their numbers during the campaign time. They communicated with me, but after the election, when you send a message, they talk to you anyhow.

So, anyone who followed me to the campaign and thinks I have gone for something just for myself, I beg you, they have not been given anything, even me, when I am fighting for them, they are rudely speaking to me.

I am asking for a job, I am not even asking them to build a story building or build a car for me. The degree holders who followed me to campaign for the NDC they want jobs.

Mzbel has been vocal about his affiliation with the NDC since 2012 and led the Celebrities for Mahama group during the 2024 campaign.

It hurts to hear people say I’ve been “sorted” and forgotten them. The truth is… I stood strong, I gave my all, I mobilized people out of pure belief, not because I was promised anything. And till now, nothing has been done for me or my team I have not turned my back on anyone. Im simply minding my own business
