Ghanaian musician Criss Waddle has quizzed Ghanaians on social media whether President John Mahama has gone for ‘Sika Duro’ ritual money.

Criss Waddle cited President John Mahama, constructing multiple roads concurrently within the country, also pointed to the cedi appreciating against the dollar and also fuel prices going down.

He further highlighted that the Tema oil refinery has also resumed crude processing, with inflation also dropping from 23.8% to 5.4%.

Criss Waddle, in his post on social media on January 29, 2026, wrote, “Na President Mahama nu Woagyei Sika Duro Anaa? multiple Road constructions are ongoing concurrently, the dollar rate is very good, petrol prices are way better than years ago, the Tema oil refinery resumed crude oil processing, and inflation dropped from 23.8% to 5.4%.Jesus Christ”.

The Ghanaian musician’s post on social media has generated a buzz on social media with some netizens saying, “The NPP goons will say because of this tweet, FBI should investigate your source of income, forgetting that you’re a clean businessman Baba, send me MoMo”.

“All these are the benefits of the DDEP. After a debt restructuring a country bounces back stronger.

Ghanaians could not stand the sacrifice and voted against the government that did the hardest work”, a netizen claimed.

“Light bill Akc soro. Galamsey nso ɛreku yɛn. Now we get water crises. He’s doing good but it only takes a night for Ghanaians to turn tables”, another netizen added.

“Killer, any road no they go on anywhere if ur area road they going on don’t speak for all of us. Go Wenchi and see Sunyani killer everywhere, but I got u if edey well with u u can talk”, another X user added.

One netizen added, “And that settles the argument that ‘the NDC & the NPP are the same” No one in this country should ever compare these parties. It’s as clear as black (NPP) and white (NDC). We as Ghanaians can’t ever allow our country’s leadership to be in the hands of the NPP ever again”.

“Is heart breaking seeing all this happening, knowing that we were just used for nothing, and they are even fighting him for doing all that.

We just realised that our pain is their joy”, a netizen added.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has said Ghana has said his government have been shocked and surprised at the quick turnaround of Ghana’s economy.

According to President Mahama, in his imagination, he thought Ghana’s economy would need about two years for Ghanaians to begin to see a turnaround.

Mahama noted that Ghana has become a poster child for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

He highlighted that anytime he meets the IMF officials and the World Bank Officials they do not believe what has happened in Ghana.

President Mahama noted that Ghana’s progress in the last year has received international recognition and admiration from other African countries, which are now studying Ghana’s policy choices.

He further detailed his government bringing inflation down from 23.8 per cent to 5.4 per cent within a year, and seeing the cedi appreciate by 37 per cent in the same period.
