Ellen Ama Daaku, a special aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has only 2026 to work.
According to Ellen Ama Daaku, the NDC has only one year to work, adding that starting from 2027, the party will be jostling for who succeeds President John Dramani Mahama.
The Special Aide, Dr Bawumia, is quoted by GHOne to have said, “NDC HAS ONLY 2026 to work. From next year till 2028, it will be a battle over who replaces President Mahama”.
Some Ghanaian X user reacting to Ellen Ama’s remarks stated, “The NDC can walk and chew gum at the same time. President Mahama will be busy at work (without the distraction of seeking another term), cementing his legacy, while others will be battling to redefine the NDC to win the hearts and mandate of the Ghanaian voters”.
“They just can’t wait to see the NDC flop because of their selfish interest💔😭if you love Ghana, love NDC because they are doing well”, a netizen added.
One X user added, “Even if they fail to work, the NPP can’t be their replacement anytime soon, get that one clear”.
“And what will the President be doing 🤔?? Everything should not be about elections. Focus on nation building!”, another X user added.
One more X user added, “She thinks NDC is as disorganised and undisciplined as NPP. Mahama is more sensibly responsible in leadership than Akufo-Addo, whose modus operandi is divide and rule”.
Additioanlly a netizen stated, “I wonder why your big head no dey tell you say if Mahama fails den your NPP ain’t an option. It will be a slap on democratic governance in Ghana. Continue fooling with your big head like Abokobi junction”
Meanwhile, Musa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has revealed that the majority of NDC supporters prefer Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to be elected Flagbearer over Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He revealed the NDC respondents did not want Dr Bawumia to emerge victorious as the NPP’s presidential candidate in the January 31 presidential election.
The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, in a Facebook post sharing the findings, stated, “ The social media poll shows the majority of NDC voters and floating voters now prefer Kennedy Agyapong than Dr Bawumia, contrary to previous polling data.”
The Global InfoAnalytics results showed nearly 40% of NDC respondents said they preferred Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer, compared with 33% for Dr Bawumia and 14% for Kwabena Agyapong.
He further revealed that floating voters expressed similar preferences, with 38% opting for Kennedy Agyapong, while 32% chose Dr Bawumia.
In all the polls so far conducted by the Global InfoAnalytics, this is the only poll with Kennedy Agyapong leading Dr Bawumia.
