Hajia Charity Asoema, the Deputy Director General of NADMO Stores, has issued a stern warning to the Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

According to Hajia Charity Asoema, the NDC was birthed through blood and chaos, warning the minority leader not to dare members of the NDC.

Her remarks follow Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s recent attacks on President John Dramani Mahama’s government.

Speaking in an interview on TV XYZ on March 2, 2026, Hajia Charity Asoema stated, “We in the NDC were birthed through blood; we are the definition of chaos, so if they want chaos, we are experts. They learned those tactics from us. Even Afenyo-Markin, if they leave the two of us together, I will defeat him hands down…so they should desist from such attacks on the government, else they will hear from us”.

“Afenyo-Markin should stop criticising President Mahama and focus on his duties. When they were in power, they did nothing for us. The National Cathedral project is still at the same place, and their chaotic behaviour must stop. When it comes to chaos, the NDC is experienced, and we can match them until they go into hiding,” she stated.

In related news, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, has demanded a public hearing over his Trybe Net allegation after he was referred to the Privileges Committee of Parliament.

According to Afenyo-Markin, he is ready to appear before the Privileges Committee to present evidence of his allegations.

The minority leader demanded that the Privileges Committee of Parliament hearing on the matter be made public in the full glare of the public.

He stated, “Honourable Minister of Interior, I am not too sure you want us to pursue this matter. I repeat, because you and I know what we know. Let the referral be made, let there be a public hearing. Let Afenyo-Markin, who these days is seen as perhaps, according to the allegation, saying something untruthful, and because of that, it is a breach of parliamentary privilege. Mr Speaker, you have the wisdom to exercise discretion.

“I will avail myself, should you exercise that discretion, to a public hearing, and then the matter can be brought to a peaceful rest”, he added.

The minority has been referred to the Privileges Committee of Parliament following his allegations of corruption in recruitment into the security services, implicating a senior government official.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, during parliament sitting, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the Minister of the Interior, demanded Speaker of Parliament refer Afenyo-Markin to the Privileges Committee to substantiate his allegations.

Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak stated, “Mr Speaker, if you recollect, you were in the chair on Thursday when he started this allegation. I took the opportunity on the floor to correct him and show him, and even encourage him, that if he wanted information, he could write and I would furnish him with all the details.

“He decided to take advantage of the State of the Nation Address on Friday, when the whole world was listening to us, to say categorically that the current internal security recruitment is scandalous. There’s corruption looming. People will go to prison. He said it on this floor,” he stated.

Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak added, “And I’m saying that, Mr Speaker, based on our Standing Order 31 (E and F), that is contentious. And I’m saying that let’s give him the opportunity to go to Privileges, where you have all the ample time and opportunity to provide all his allegations so that we meet him there with our facts.

“So, Mr Speaker, that is why I am referring to the fact that we are having too many of such comments coming from somebody like the Minority Leader, and the time for him to prove his allegation is here, and the best place to do that, Mr Speaker, is at Privileges,” he said.

Bernard Ahiafor, the first  Deputy Speaker of Parliament, referred the Minority Leader to the privileges committee following a complaint by the Interior Minister.

Meanwhile, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has retracted and apologised to the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, over allegations of fraud he made on the ongoing security service recruitment process.

During parliamentary proceedings on Wednesday, March 4, Afenyo-Markin formally withdrew the comments and expressed regret over the matter.

According to him, he did not do that to hurt or to tarnish the reputation of Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.

Afenyo-Markin stated, “Mr Speaker, I will not do that to hurt him or tarnish his reputation, and if the text of my concern reflected so, it is hereby accordingly withdrawn. I assure you that concerns that will arise out of any matter shall be properly brought to his attention”.
