Netizens on social media have reacted a 43-second video of the Ghanaian president John Mahama wildly missing his shot during the 4th FNB Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament.

In a viral video shared on X, President Mahama was captured as he attempted a big swing of the golf ball.

Mr Mahama completely missed the golf ball with his air shot amid enthusiastic crowds that had gathered around him.

President Mahama, after missing his first shot, later hit the golf ball on his second attempt and was met by a loud cheer from the crowd gathered at the Achimota Golf Club.

Some Ghaaians reacting to the video stated, “the golf no eno be small job o”.

Another netizen added, “Mr. President, I hope you did believe those shouting that you are the best golfer they have ever seen!”.

“Imagine it was Bawumia that missed that shot, we all know what the NDC would have done”, one more netizen added.

A netizen also described Mahama as Bole Bamboi Tiger Woods, saying, “ Bole Bamboi Tiger Woods. Na who force am”.

 Meanwhile, the 4th FNB Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament took place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the iconic Achimota Golf Club.

The tournament was officially opened with a ceremonial tee-off by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana.

The 2025 edition is themed “Giving Back To The Community Through Golf”.

Reports by CitiSports stated, “The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is a prestigious amateur golf event held annually under the distinguished patronage of the sitting President”.

It revealed, the 2025 edition will feature 120 golfers from clubs across Ghana and beyond.

“The event is proudly organised by Northwestern Solutions in partnership with the Ghana Golf Association, with First National Bank (FNB) serving as the headline sponsor.

“Additional sponsorship and support are being provided by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Aphro, La Villa Aphro, Mundus, SAP Gp, Danny List Foundation, Caveman Watches, The Luckiest, and Nguvu Mining Limited”,

“In addition to President Mahama, other distinguished guests expected to grace the tee-off ceremony at Achimota Golf Club—and later attend the closing ceremony at the University of Ghana Dome—include the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Sir Sam Jonah chairperson, Frank Adu, President of Achimota Golf Club, Kweku Okyere, President of the Ghana Golf Association, Presidents and captains of several golf clubs, Mr. Warren Adams, CEO of FNB, and several executives of the supporting sponsor organizations”, Citi Sport report added.
