Kevin-Prince Boateng, the former Black Stars player, has narrated how his wife led him to church for the first time.

According to Kevin-Prince Boateng, his wife persuaded him to attend church services for the first time despite so many voices telling him not to go.

The ex-footballer added that his wife never saw him as her husband, but helped him through all his trauma.

Kevin-Prince Boateng revealed that at the church, he started to cry, and the Spirit hit him with so much conviction that he felt so sorry, adding that it was that moment he gave his life to Christ.

Speaking on the Unscripted podcast, the former Barcelona and AC Milan player narrated, “My wife says, ‘You want to come to church?’ She prayed to God, saying, ‘You want me to help this man, I will help him.’ She never saw me as her husband or anything.

She just knew God brought me into her life so she could help me go through all my trauma and everything. Never in my life had I been to church. So many voices told me, ‘Don’t go. Don’t worry about that. Why are you going? Just tell her you’re sick, you can’t come, don’t go.’

He added, “And my wife went by herself because she said, ‘We can’t go in together, we’re not a couple.’ So I was standing in front of the church, looking at these people with Bibles going inside. I was like, ‘What am I doing here, man?’ She did it on purpose because she wanted me to go in there for Christ, not for her. You feel out of place. I put on a turtleneck so they wouldn’t see my tattoos,” he narrated.

“I was kind of ashamed of that. She’s like, ‘Oh, it’s your first time?’ It was my first time ever in church. I went all the way to the back, and these people had their hands up, singing to Jesus. I looked at them and said, ‘What’s wrong with these people?’ After five minutes, I don’t know what happened. I stood up, lifted my hands, and started crying in that church, and I was peeping so no one would recognise me.”

“There was another real man there crying, looking at me. We nodded our heads. I’m like, ‘Okay, it’s okay to cry here.’ I don’t know, the Spirit hit me with so much conviction, and I felt so sorry. And that’s the moment where I said, ‘I want to give you my life, man. I want to give you my life,’” he said.

Some netizens reacting to Kevin-Prince Boateng’s interview stated, “The Holy Spirit is real…I can talk about it the whole day, week and months…The Holy Spirit helped me complete something in months that was taking me years to complete, doing it with my own strength. After encountering the Holy Spirit, he shortened the Journey for me”.

One netizen added, “There is a reason we cry whenever we feel His presence. Because even though consciously we might not understand, but our spirits are instantly able to identify with His undying love for us, it’s something more powerful than a magnet, we get sucked into it and it’s overwhelming”.

“So touching, but do you think the tattoo should be cleaned? Personally I think he has to clean it, but I’m open to suggestions”, another netizen added.
