Nigerian woman busted for for wearing police uniform

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of a Nigerian national, identified as Esther Obasi.

The arrest comes after the suspect was spotted in a viral videos in a police uniform.

In a post on X, the Ghana Police Service wrote, “POLICE ARREST SUSPECT OVER VIRAL VIDEO IN POLICE UNIFORM

The IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team has arrested a suspect in connection with a viral video in which she was seen wearing a Police uniform.

The suspect, identified as Esther Obasi, was captured in the video dressed in official Police camouflage and a standard black Police uniform in video which circulated widely on social media.

Preliminary investigations established a link between the suspect and a Police officer, who was invited to assist with investigations and subsequently produced her. The officer stated that he had given the uniform to the suspect to wash for him.

The suspect is in custody assisting the investigations”.

The Ghana Police Service has announced they have foiled a planned highway robbery leading to one suspect being shot dead.

According to the Police, the planned robbery attack was along the Ejura–Nkruanza highway following an intelligence-led operation near Mimenaso No. 2 in the Ashanti Region.

The Police detailed that the operation was carried out on April 9, 2026, after authorities received intelligence about a six-member robbery gang.

The police statement disclosed that the gang was led by one Mahamadu Fuseini, also known as Shaini who concealed themselves in a nearby bush, awaiting potential victims.

In a post on Facebook, April 10, 2026, the Ghana Police Service wrote, “POLICE FOIL ROBBERY ATTEMPT ALONG EJURA–NKORANZA HIGHWAY; ONE SUSPECT DEAD.

The Ghana Police Service has foiled a planned robbery attack along the Ejura–Nkuranza highway following an intelligence-led operation near Mimenaso No. 2 in the Ashanti Region.

On 9th April 2026, an operational team acting on intelligence proceeded to a bush where a six-member robbery gang, led by one Mahamadu Fuseini, also known as Shaini, was planning to ambush and rob commuters along that stretch.

As the Police team approached the location, the suspects, mistaking them for potential targets, opened fire. The team returned fire, during which one of the suspects was shot while the others, including the gang leader, escaped.

A pump-action gun loaded with four live cartridges, two spent cartridges, and three assorted keypad mobile phones was retrieved from the scene. Two additional live cartridges were also found in the deceased suspect’s pocket, along with a talisman tied around his waist.

The body has since been deposited at the Atebubu Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy, while efforts are underway to pursue and arrest the remaining suspects connected to this crime”.
