Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced the party has ended its boycott of Media General’s platforms.

It will be recalled that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) withdrew from all Media General’s platforms, including TV3, 3 FM, and Onua FM, in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.

The party’s communications director, Richard Ahiagbah, later communicated through a press release issued on January 26, making this known.

According to the NPP, this follows months of supposed failed attempts to address concerns over biased and unprofessional conduct by Media General hosts and management.

However, Richard Ahiagbah, in a press release issued on February 12, announced that the NPP has lifted its boycott of all Media General platforms.

In a Press release, Richard Ahiagbah stated, “The New Patriotic Party announces the immediate lifting of its boycott of all Medi: General platforms. This includes interviews, panel discussions, press conferences, and media briefings involving party executives and representatives.

This decision follows constructive discussions between the party leadership and Media General’s management. Both parties have agreed on ground rules to uphold higher professional standards and to ensure fair and balanced interactions that serve the public interest.,

We look forward to renewing our partnership with Media General as we work to strengthen Ghana’s democracy.

Long live the NPP

Long live Ghana”.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “After describing Media Generalmas a Pro-NDC media firm which you claimed you would never need in order to win elections…you going back? More like a dog going back tot its vomit. Tueh”.

“Why are you back. You should have continued to be arrogant in opposition… The NPP is Visionless as we speak”, another X user added.

One more Ghanaian wrote, “Was there ever a boycott? Zaato, Bentil, and Domfe were also present in the studio, and your party couldn’t whip them into line. Such a disciplined political party”.

Another netizen added, “This decision was ill-advised from the start. I’m confident that, in the future, the potential repercussions will be more carefully evaluated before proceeding. Following chairman Buga will sink you like titanic”.

“STOP the nonsense and this bogus face-saving attitude; “engage them to uphold high professional standards’. You foolishly thought their programs would be less attractive by boycotting them, but here you are begging them to be taken back”, one more X user added.

Additionally, another X user added, “U said they were biased, irresponsible and fake. Now you want engagement to promote the interests of ur party, not the Ghanaians right chameleon party. You think the current administration is failing, so u would join forces with all media houses and push ur propaganda that would be in your dreams ego over u”.

“Shameless bunch of idiots. Despite all the insults and denigration, you will still go there to sell your party. After beating some of their journalists and pushing their microphones away, you have no shame in going there again?

Be principled for once”, a netizen added.
