Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, has promised NPP delegates ten appointments to every constituency if elected president of Ghana.
According to Dr Bawumia, the one constituency, ten appointments is aimed at strengthening party structures at the local level and promoting inclusive participation at the national level appointments.
Dr Bawumia highlighted that each constituency would be empowered to nominate qualified and deserving individuals for these appointments, adding that non-performing appointees would not be spared.
He further called for massive support, emphasising his vision to make all constituencies strong and balanced.
In a message to party delegates ahead of the NPP presidential primaries, Dr Bawumia stated, “My plan is to strengthen all constituencies in Ghana to be resilient and sustainable. Most of the time, some constituencies are left out in the appointment process. As a future President of Ghana, God willing, I will dedicate 3,000 out of 7,000 national appointments to constituencies nationwide.
“Every constituency will get at least 10 national-level appointments per constituency, including ministers of state, deputy ministers, CEOs, deputy CEOs, Ambassadors, Deputy Ambassadors, Board of Directors, amongst others,” he promised.
“Appointees who will perform abysmally will be replaced with competent ones,” he stated.
Also, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has told NPP delegates he is bringing a new policy that will help Christians visit Israel to pray when he becomes president.
According to Dr Bawumia, Ghana needs prayers, and he has faith in God and believes that when Ghanaians pray, God listens.
Speaking to some NPP delegates on his campaign runs, Dr Bawumia stated, “Our country needs prayers, and I have faith in God. I believe when we pray, God listens to our prayers. That is why Muslims always want to visit Mecca for Hajj.
I am bringing another policy, as Muslims go to Mecca to pray, we want to help Christians and Pastors who want to visit Israel to pray for Ghana”.
Meanwhile, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the 2024 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has given a massive vote of confidence to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s presidential election.
According to Napo, the former vice president was the wisest and smartest person in Akufo-Addo’s cabinet.
Speaking to NPP delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh stated, “ I, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, I have serve Cabinet for seven and a half years. It got to a time I was taking one policy to the Cabinet every week. They were even tired of me.
I have never seen anyone in Cabinet as wise and smart as Dr Bawumia”.
Furthermore, Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has declared Dr Mahamudu Bawumia the winner of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr Dankwah expressed unwavering confidence in his organisation’s polls.
According to him, he remains calm and unshaken despite different poll opinions and prophecies.
