Rev John Winfred, Founder and Senior Pastor of Lovereign Bible Church, has warned his fellow men of God to stay away from politicians to preserve their ministry.
According to Rev John Winfred, Pastors must stop prophesying for politicians, warning that Politicians will only collapse their church.
The man of God further cautions Pastors not to see politicians coming to their church as a breakthrough, as it is a trap.
He disclosed that Pastor Oyedepo once also advised him to stay away from politicians, citing that all the people he started his ministry work with churches have collapsed following their dealings with Politicians.
Speaking to his Church congregation, Pastor John Winfred stated, “Stay away from politicians and stop prophesying to them. Pastors, stay away; you will preserve your ministry.
Further mistake of the ministry is playing around with people with power; they will collapse your church. I am the one who said this about this man; all the ones who said things about politicians before you, what did they do for them? They will start going after them, and the pastor will not learn”.
The man of God added, “I had the opportunity to talk to Bishop Oyedepo. He said my son, stay away from politicians. All my friends who started the ministry with me have had their ministries destroyed. I don’t have time to mention names. What did they do for this pastor? And they will still not learn.
If you have a politician coming to your church, it is not a breakthrogh it is a trap; you have to skillfully relate with them. I have politicians in the church, and I tell them the truth. The political world is dangerous; they themselves know it.
This is what they do, when you get close to them, they will cover you in shady deals nd when you try to stay away from them, they will blackmail you”
Also, Prophet Kofi Oduro, the founder of the Alabaster International Ministry, has told fellow Ghanaian pastors to stop using the pulpit for political nonsense.
According to Kofi Oduro, the church has souls to win and God to glorify.
He added that the Church must focus on spiritual matters rather than partisan politics.
Speaking during his sermon on February 1, 2026, Prophet Oduro stated, “Let’s stop this nonsense of helping these politicians. We have a gospel to preach. We have souls to win. We have a Christ to glorify. Let’s not use the pulpit for political nonsense. We have a Christ to glorify”.
The man of God further described some politicians as disrespectful to God, very promiscuous, very adulterous.
“Most of these politicians are very disrespectful to God, very promiscuous, very adulterous, and most of them don’t care about God. Why do we have to care about them and give them so much attention? We have a whole Bible here to preach open the word and preach the word, leave these uncircumcised people. The pulpit is not for political nonsense,” he said.
