The founder and leader of Regin House Chapel, Prophet Eric Boahen Uche, popularly known as Prophet Uche, 2026 prophecy concerning a vacancy in Parliament has resurfaced amid Ayawaso East MP’s death.
In a viral video shared on social media, Prophet Uche, speaking at his church’s Watch Night Service on December 31, 2025, revealed there was going to be a vacant seat in the Parliament of Ghana.
Prophet Uche in the video stated, “Last year, I said we should pray for our Parliament. For 2026, we should pray for our Parliament again. There is a vacant seat in the Parliament House again.
“I projected all the people I have in Parliament. Those of you who have relatives in Parliament, let us pray for them. If you know someone in Parliament, dip that person into the blood of Jesus because two seats will become vacant. There will be two by-elections in Parliament,” he said.
The video has resurfaced following the death of Naser Toure Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East.
Reports suggest the NDC MP passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a period of illness.
According to multiple sources, Naser Toure Mahama is said to have died on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in the afternoon.
The late Naser Toure Mahama was a fourth-term MP and held several key roles in Parliament.
He served as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee, and a member on the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Richard Acheampong, the Second Deputy Majority Whip, has revealed that the late Ayawaso East is expected to be laid to rest today in accordance with Muslim tradition at his residence in Nima, Accra.
Meanwhile, Yussif Jajah, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, has eulogised the late Ayawaso East Member of Parliament Naser Toure Mahama for leaving a very big mark.
According to Yussif Jajah, the late Naser Toure Mahama inspired many young politicians, including himself, to get into parliament.
He recounted a community initiative championed by the late MP, the “Operation Cement Your Lungu,” which mobilised residents to improve sanitation and infrastructure in underserved neighbourhoods.
Speaking to the media at the late MP’s residence, Mr Jajah stated, “In fact, within his first time in Parliament from 2010 to 2016, he did a lot that inspired some of us to also campaign to get to Parliament in 2017,” he said.
“I think he’s left a very big mark. Whoever takes over from him must be fully prepared to continue and build on what he started,” he added.
