Dominic Nitiwul, the Member of Parliament for Bimbilla and former Minister of Defence, has told NPP delegates in Bimbilla to reject Kennedy Agyapong.

According to Dominic Nitiwul, Kennedy Agyapong does not like Konkombas.

The Bimbilla lawmaker urged delegates to vote for Dr Bawumia, claiming that Konkombas across the country are supporting him.

He warned them that voting for Kennedy Agyapong would “disgrace” their community.

Dominic Nitiwul’s remarks have triggered anger across the party, with many condemning the MP for attempting to divide the party along tribal lines for political gain.

Some netizens reacting to the comments stated, “When people like Nitiwul campaign for Bawumia, the former toilet-and-bathroom vice president, it tells you who Nitiwul is. Equally short-minded and visionless”.

One more X user stated, “U guys have no shame. This video was in 2023, he was replying to the useless comment ur leader made against Northerners”.

A netizen added, “They should bear in their head that in case Bawumia win the primaries, they should dare step their foot on Akan land and doorstep to beg us to vote for Bawumia”

“This was in 2023. And he was reacting to the bigoted statements of your madafucker candidate when he said Akuffo-Addo had abandoned the central and western regions, whilst giving appointments to the northern region”, an X user added.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, has warned the Akans in the party that they will soon end up becoming servants if they are not united.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Akans must support their own, arguing that northern political actors within the NPP are uniting behind a single candidate, which could lead to Akans, whom he described as royals, becoming servants.

The former Assin Central lawmaker noted that there is a high level of disunity among the Akans groups within the NPP.

Speaking to NPP delegates in Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Ken Agyapong stated, “Let me tell you something. My grandparent told me something — that what is good is what is your own”.

Let us be very careful because we are making a mistake. Some people are able to get together and say, ‘This is our brother.’ But when it gets to our turn, we are not able to unite. We shall remain servants if we don’t change our minds. If we remain disunited, we shall remain servants for long. I’m speaking Twi to you, and I am not afraid of anyone. I will speak my mind.

When you go to some places, they will say, ‘I would have supported you, but if I show my face, they will say I’ve betrayed my brother.’ But as for you, an Abuakwa person, have you not betrayed your brother? What you would not be happy with if it were done to Kweku, don’t do it to Kwesi, he added.

Ken Agyapong further highlighted that minority tribes are threatening and discriminating against the majority Akan tribe, “I am surprised that we, the majority, sit down for the minority to discriminate against us. Tribal politics are going on, and it looks like you people have not seen it. The royals will soon become servants if we don’t change our attitude. I am telling you, and I’m not afraid”.

He boldly added, “Today I am standing in Nana Akufo-Addo’s hometown and speaking Twi to you. We are not afraid of anybody. In which country do you allow the minority to threaten the majority?

Only in Ghana. It is only in Ghana that we allow the minority to threaten the majority, and it is because we don’t love ourselves. Let your Akyem be of concern to you. If we don’t do that, they will take us for granted in Ghana”.
