The completed abandoned hospital in Koforidua

A resident of Koforidua has expressed concerns about the abandonment of a completed hospital in the area.

According to the Resident of Koforidua, the hospital project was completed under the Akufo-Addo administration, but has remained unused since the NDC took office.

He further detailed that the abandoned hospital is located at New Juaben South, where Michael Okyere Baafi is the Member of Parliament.

SIKA Official who shared the news on X wrote, “A resident of Koforidua has expressed concerns about the abandonment of a hospital in the area, which he believes was completed under the Nana Addo administration but has remained unused since the NDC took office.

He has urged President Mahama and his government to take the necessary steps to make the hospital operational”.

Speaking in the viral video, a narrator stated, “This is a Poly Clinic in Koforidua; in fact, it is situated in Michael Okyere Baafi’s constituency. This project seems to be complete, and it was under President Akufo-Addo’s era. I don’t understand why this project is still not functional.

This Mahama administration should immediately find a way of making this beautiful project functional”.

Some Ghanaian reacting to the development stated, “If the hospital in Koforidua was indeed completed under the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, then the priority now should be making it fully operational under John Dramani Mahama — for the benefit of the people, not for party points”.

One more Ghanaian wrote, “There’s one Agenda 111 hospital at Ahanta West, which is like 30mins drive from Takoradi in the Western Region, fully completed, but this government hesitates to equip it for operation. The list might go on. Meanwhile, it’s something that will create legit employments o”.

“This is what happens when common infrastructure becomes a political game. Ordinary Ghanaians suffer and pay the price”, a netizen adds.

“This is not totally true! It was never completed due to the economic crush under NADAA in 2022, no money. So the project stopped since then. Bf coming to social media, people must find out what was said about completing it in the current budget bf shouting. It’s not complete, no!”, one X user wrote.

A netizen added, “Because of politics, many initiatives are left to waste across the country, and we, as citizens, foolishly defend our political parties for failing to continue them. These projects have the potential to create significant employment opportunities for the people”.

One more Ghanaian noted, “Sometimes these completed projects are just buildings without equipment, staff, or full certification. If that’s the case, say it clearly instead of playing blame games.

We don’t vote for empty buildings. We vote for functioning services. If it’s not operational, then it’s not”.

“A hospital is not NPP property. It’s not NDC property. It’s public property. If it’s completed and still locked, that’s political pettiness hurting ordinary Ghanaians”, one X user stated.

Additionally, one more X user added, “if Nurses Trainee allowances were repurposed for completion and equipping these facilities so they get employed immediately after school, it would have been the best. But the Daft moronic people will say otherwise. If you can’t sacrifice to secure your future, better STFU”.
