SHOCK – Young couple arrested for allegedly beheading their 3-day-old baby for money ritual

The Ghana Police Service have arrested a young Ghanaian couple for allegedly beheading their three-day-old baby for a suspected money ritual.

The couples have been identified as a 24-year-old Abena Benewa and a 26-year-old Bright Ashiao.

Reports suggest that the couple was arrested at Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District.

According to reports, the shocking incident was exposed when residents discovered the mutilated body of the baby at a refuse dump and initiated a search for the perpetrators of the evil act.

The information gathered also alleged that the couple claimed their three-day-old baby was pronounced dead upon delivery by a traditional birth attendant in Bontrase.

In a post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X, he wrote, “A young couple, 24-year-old Abena Benewa and 26-year-old Bright Ashiao, have been arrested at Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya West District for allegedly beheading their three-day-old baby for a suspected money ritual.

The disturbing act was brought to light after residents discovered the mutilated body of the baby at a refuse dump and launched a search for the perpetrators of the heinous act.

It is reported that the couple claimed the baby was pronounced dead upon delivery by a traditional birth attendant in Bontrase, but failed to adequately explain the severed body parts.

Following rigorous questioning, residents handed over the suspects to the Awutu Beraku District Police Command for further investigations and prosecution”.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians reacting to the development stated, “Justice and accountability are critical here, and the focus must also be on community awareness and prevention, so such atrocities are never repeated”.

“24 and 26 year olds. If you’re not financially capable, why engage in sexual activity to bring forth this innocent baby, just to kill him for rituals

A netizen added, “Once again, we must let the old law work in Ghana for sanity to prevail! Murderers, Rapists and Terrorists must not be given a day to live! All other crimes can be weighed in courts”.

“Such young people. What sort of money do you want? Money you’re not willing to work for. You want to be lazy and succeed on the blood of the innocent”, one more X user wrote.

An X user claimed, “There’s no blood money. Those mallams are human traffickers. They will convince you to kill and bring the human parts so they can sell them on the black market. After selling, you receive your share, thinking it’s the human sacrifice that produces the money. You can’t stop killing”.

“This is what we’re always talking about, if care is not taken, these things are going to normalise in the country..the Malam or whatever have to be also arrested too”, another X user added.
