Ghanaian music executive and entrepreneur Davido GH has accused Ghanaian musician Sam Sarfo Junior, popularly known as Showboy, of extorting money from him.
According to Davido GH, Showboy repeatedly made online videos targeted at him in an attempt to pressure him into giving him money.
In a post shared by Bongo Ideas on X, Davido GH stated, “Showboy was extorting money from me. He does things he thinks will make me panic, so I will give him money. He kept making videos about me and posting them online, and my people kept forwarding them to me.
I explained everything to some street leaders about what he was doing.
They spoke to him, and he told them he would delete the videos, but an hour later, he went online and insulted them, calling all land guards aimless.
That meant he also disrespected the leaders I contacted. He cannot keep playing with everything because things like this do not end well.
He directly demanded money from me, but I refused. If I give him money and encourage that behaviour, he might turn to my family when I am not available, and I do not want that to happen.
I later reported the matter to the CID. There were no shady dealings between us. He once saw me in my friend’s Range Rover and assumed it was mine, then started spreading false rumours.
He has been bullying me online, but I am not the type to switch on my camera and rant. I respect myself too much for that.
He wants to ruin my reputation, but I challenge him to bring evidence that we ever had any illegal deal”.
Meanwhile, some days ago, Showboy was spotted handcuffed and interacting with police officers.
In the video, a police officer who identified herself as ASP was heard engaging Showboy.
A Police Officer from the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) Headquarters was also heard, who stated their boss ordered them to bring Showboy in for detention.
He later requested water and asked to speak to his doctor, claiming he is a psychiatric patient.
The update follows the home Showboy, which was stormed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) some days ago.
Viral videos making rounds on social media showed Showboy being arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
Also, Showboy appeared in court yesterday late and was remanded for another two weeks.
The Adenta Circuit Court has adjourned the case of Showboy to March 4, 2026.
