Obuoba Jackson Alfred Adofo, a Legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for supporting him ever since he became ill.
According to the Legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician, the president has been providing him with monthly stipends to cover his medical bills, plus some items.
He highlighted that President Mahama’s monthly support is purely an act of generosity, adding that he does not engage in politics.
He further added that there is no ulterior motive behind President Mahama’s assistance.
Speaking in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje, Obuoba Jackson Alfred Adofo revealed, “Ever since I fell sick, President Mahama has been giving me gifts, including money to buy medicine every single month. You can ask Mr Beautiful, because he is the one who brings the money”.
“Truth be told, I don’t involve myself in politics, but he likes me. My child has passed away, and under normal circumstances, I would have invited him to the burial. However, I understand the responsibilities he carries as President.
“Therefore, I will not disturb him because he is the father of the nation. But I am sure that if he hears that I am burying my child, he would come to support me,” he added.
Some Ghanaians reacting to his revelation stated, “Wow, things we love to see”.
“President Mahama is full of z compassion. He just wants to see progress and not suffering. I hope and pray he won’t have pulled Down syndrome people around him this time”, a netizen added.
Another X user added, “Mahama is an unsung philanthropist. He does it without the lenses of a camera or the media. God keep him for all his benefactors”.
“Mahama hypocrite, he should put every old age on a payment plan since he cares about people who are old and vulnerable and stop that face look look”, an X user also stated.
One X user added, “The fact that he mentioned Mr Beautiful makes what he’s saying true. Also, Mr Beautiful is a good man. I am saying this from personal experience”.
Additionally, one Ghanaian user added, “This is our president Mahama. I think he is different from our previous president, may God bless him with his generation. May his love for our country never fade thanks”.
Meanwhile, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, a former UT Bank boss and founder, Captain (Rtd), has said President John Mahama’s eagerness to please people could undermine his authority.
According to Kofi Amoabeng, President Mahama’s humane and easygoing nature could become a weakness if not balanced.
Kofi Amoabeng, while praising President Mahama’s respectful approach to leadership, warned that being too eager to please people could undermine his authority.
Speaking on Joy News’ AM Show, Kofi Amoabeng stated, “He’s easygoing. He relates to people with no hard feelings. It’s about respecting everybody. The only thing I’m not sure about our president is that he loves to see people happy. He wants to please people”.
“Yes, because you must be a bit crazy to say this is where we’re going, and if you’re not doing it, you get the sanctions, even if it means sacking”.
“With responsibilities, you make them responsible and accountable. It’s very important to question performance and sanction,” he stressed.
