Dr Bryan Acheampong, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, has confidently stated that the applause the John Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is getting is fake and AI-generated.
Speaking in a video shared on X, Bryan Acheampong detailed that the government is being praised for using artificial methods to restore Ghana’s economy.
According to Bryan Acheampong, when the artificial methods stop working, Ghanaians will begin to ask the government tough questions.
Dr Bryan Acheampong, in the interview, stated, “I’m saying that artificial intelligence can be used for a lot of things. Most of the applause and all the praise we are seeing are mainly generated by machines clapping.
“Very soon, Ghanaians will start asking questions. They will start asking questions,” he said.
He added, “They will say that we voted for you 12 months ago, and you used 10 billion dollars to hold the economy; what fundamentals are you putting in place for it (the economy) to stabilise?
“The money you inject into the economy from the Bank of Ghana is one thing, but what you have to do for the economy to stabilise is another thing. The Bank of Ghana will not always be in the position to inject money, so the fundamentals must be strong,” he said.
He added, “So, very soon, Ghanaians will start asking that the money from the Bank of Ghana is no longer coming, the dollar is going up… where is the 24-hour economy? These are the pillars which are supposed to hold the economy.”
Some netizens reacting to Bryan Acheampong’s video stated, “Honestly, when these people speak, you tend to see how much disrespect they have for us Ghanaians. So we don’t think we don’t know when the government is doing well and it’s not? So, what were the elections? Was it AI that voted, or it was the same Ghanaians? May he never come close to the presidency..!!!”
An X user added, “Being an opposition party member doesn’t mean you have to oppose everything that the government does or pretend to be blind to the progress being made. The govt is completing most uncompleted projects by the previous govt and instead of commending the govt, you’re rather criticising the govt for not completing their own project.
You see why they abandoned projects by their predecessors during their 8 years in power? When you try to undermine the progress we all see, you become annoying and unattractive. There are many areas of the country’s development that he could have criticised, i.e., unemployment etc but to pretend nothing is happening is disingenuous”.
“So now even national goodwill needs a software update? 😂If applause is “AI-generated,” then maybe the complaints are manual errors.
When performance speaks, the noise always starts calling it fake”, one more netizen wrote.
Another Ghanaian added, “Things have really turned out positively! This is remarkable and enduring in its purpose: Ghanaians are asking real questions. Dismissing public sentiment as ‘artificial’ only exposes how far some leaders have drifted from the people they once governed”.
“The number of payments halted by this government, I pray the day they start releasing these payments to institutions and contractors, it wouldn’t have any negative ripple effect.
The truth is, the cedi is gona rise once these payments start..”, a netizen added.
