Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has alleged that there is a scandal looming in security services recruitment.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin alleged that Trybe Net, which has been tasked by the Interior Ministry with the online security services recruitment, is duping innocent Ghanaians and unemployed youths.
According to Afenyo-Markin, the minority will pursue the person and make sure there is full disclosure.
The minority leader further alleged that Trybe Net, in connivance with an appointee of the government and she will be exposed.
Speaking in response to the 2026 State of the Nation Address, Afenyo-Markin stated, “We are happy they are showing a picture trying to embarrass the former finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta. Very soon, a senior appointee who is in charge of Trybenet will go to jail.
So the one behind Trybe Net, the one who introduced Trybe Net to the Ministry, who is chopping money. We are happy you are showing pictures. Very soon we will bring her picture. The one in charge of Trybe Net duping innocent Ghanaians, duping the unemployed youths, there are many youths who are looking for jobs, and this Trybe Net with connivance with an appointee of the government she will be exposed, so you continue with Ken Ofori-Atta. So and very soon it will be your turn”.
“As we speak, there is a scandal looming in security services recruitment, Trybe Net. We know who brought that company to the Ministry. Karma has a way, and the Minority will pursue the person and make sure there is full disclosure”, he added.
Afenyo-Markin later went on to quiz President John Dramani Mahama if Ghanaans are going to eat macroeconomic indicators and inflation,
According to Afenyo-Markin, the cocoa farmers have reduced the producer price, and Ghanaians continue to suffer under galamsey hardship.
He also slammed President John Dramani Mahama, saying that one year into his administration, the government is still “acting with slogans and no action.”
He added, “What the president failed to tell the people of Ghana is that one year in government, he is still acting with slogans, no action. Electricity tariffs have skyrocketed, and Ghanaians cannot afford electricity. We have 1000s of Ghanaian youth who were dismissed through a letter by the CJ.
“The cocoa farmers have reduced the producer price, and Eric Opoku cannot be found, and they are telling us, Inflation macroeconomics, Macroeconomics ‘na ye be di…Ghanaians continue to suffer under galamsey hardship, and we expect concrete action to be taken on galamsey.
“To conclude, our elders say give credit where credit is due. Mr President is telling us today that some gains have been made, those gains through this gold for reserve.
The Gold-For-Reserve policy, which they have failed to tell Ghanains is that the Bawumia that they attack is the brainchild of this policy. I will want to urge the government to give to Bawumia what belongs to Bawumia”.
Meanwhile, Hopeson Adorye, the Director of Field Operations for the United Party, has said the Minority in parliament are in deep waters, fishing for a scandal to smear the NDC government.
According to Hopeson Adorye, the Minority in Parliament is in deep waters searching for a scandal to associate with the John Mahama government.
Speaking on the AM Show on JoyNews on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, Hopeso Adorye stated, “NPP is in deep waters, fishing for a scandal to tag this government. That is all. All they are doing is just fishing for a scandal that does not exist.”
“Someone has worked with a company before and is now the CEO. Is he still working with the company? That’s one thing we should do. And I don’t think the gentleman is still working with Atlas,” he stated.
“Awarding contracts — is it the deputy CEO who awards the contracts?” he asked.
He further added, “The difference here is that the gentleman has welcomed the investigations, the probe. He is willing to avail himself for any probe that they want to conduct”.
“When they finish, either both sides are guilty or not guilty. If he’s not guilty, then what is the point? You have wasted state money. Because a probe is not just a probe,” he argued.
“My conclusion is that the NPP Minority in Parliament are in deep waters, fishing for a scandal just to tag the NDC,” he reiterated.
