Daasebre Akuamoah, in the viral video, was captured daring the officers who wanted to arrest him, wailing as he said, “I’m not going anywhere with you. Arrest me, arrest me if you can”.

This follows the chieftaincy drama unfolding in the Kwahu Traditional Area in the Eastern Region after the Queen Mother of the area, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua, on Monday, November 17, 2025, was abducted by some personnel from the Police Service.

Nana Adwoa Gyemfua was abducted following a raid at the Palace of the Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Council at Abene.

Reports suggest the attack occurred on Monday, November 17, 25, around 4 a.m.

According to the information gathered, Armed men, reportedly dressed in police uniforms, claiming to be from the National Security, raided the Palace of the Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Council at Abene.

The official Toyota Land Cruiser of the Kwahuhene was taken during the raid.

Tracking information from the Toyota Land Cruiser revealed was en route to Accra.

The Nkawkaw and Kwahu Divisional Police Commands have said they did not know about any operations conducted by the personnel who identified themselves as national security agents.

Additionally, the Police have revealed  Nana Adwoa Gyamfua, the Kwahuhemaa, has been released following her abduction during an early morning raid at the palace of the Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Council.

The Ghana Police made this known in a post on X on Monday, November 17, 2025.

The Police post stated, “The Inspector-General of Police has directed the release of the Queen Mother of Kwahu, following an operation by some officers this morning”.

“The IGP has further directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau to conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the operation, and any officers found culpable will be sanctioned. Meanwhile, security has been intensified in and around Kwahu to ensure the safety of all persons”, the post further stated.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs Judicial Committee has issued an interlocutory injunction restraining the interference in the functions and authority of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, the Omanhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, pending the final determination of an ongoing chieftaincy dispute.

According to a report, “the injunction follows a motion filed by Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II on May 5, 2025, supported by his affidavit and opposed by the 1st respondent, Nana Simpeh Owiredu III”.
