The Nigerian woman busted

A Nigerian woman was apprehended by a group of men at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle over child trafficking suspicions.

The Nigerian woman, identified only as Florence, was busted by a group of vigilant men at Circle in Accra over allegations of trafficking a 16-year-old girl from Nigeria.

She was later handed over to the authorities over allegations.

According to reports, the lady claimed the girl was her sister when she was questioned by some individuals.

The Nigerian woman admitted to living in Ghana for the past seven years and owning a business at Ashongman Estate.

She was handed over to National Security officials for further investigation into the allegation.

The video shared on social media has since generated views and likes, with some Ghanaians commenting under the video saying, “Excellent work by the vigilantes, but authorities must open their eyes. It’s been happening. Cos if we want to wait for immigration at the borders, this won’t stop because of nokofio they keep collecting over there”.

“This is really scary. I hope the authorities find out the full truth and make sure justice is done. We all need to watch out and protect young people from things like this”, another X user added.

Another X user added, “This is how many Nigerians have become prostitutes In ghana … yet Ablakwah and the NDC is dishing out passports to streamers while the border is open 24/7 for everyone”.

Additionally, another Ghanaian stated, “I keep saying that ‘Ghanaians are sleeping, ‘ and before we wake up, Nigerians have taken over the country. There are over 7 million Nigerians in Ghana. The indigenous Ghanaian population is about 30 million. In the next 10 years, Nigerians will overtake us in our own country, ebe there we go see”.

In related news, the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has rescued a Nigerian teenager trafficked to Ghana.

According to the Police, the 15-year-old Nigerian national was trafficked to Ghana and forced to engage in sex work at Tarkwa in the Western Region.

The Police, in a statement issued, revealed,  medical checks show the teenager is five weeks pregnant.

The Nigerian teenager was trafficked to Ghana with the promise of Ghana, but after arrival, was subjected to abuse.

Portion of the Police statement reads, “On Monday, 3rd of November, 2025, police arrested 25-year-old Joy Ogbonna at Aboso near Tarkwa, following a report by the victim’s father, Ogbonno Onuigbo, who said his daughter went missing in the month of October 2025, in Nigeria. The victim later called him on the 24th of October 2025, revealing that she had been trafficked and abused in Ghana”.

“Police investigations indicated that one Golden Blessing, who is currently on the run, lured the victim from Enugu to Lagos under the pretext of offering her a cleaning job and later handed her over to Joy Ogbonna, who transported her to Tarkwa.

“Upon arrival, the suspect confined the victim in a room, forced her into sex work, and collected the proceeds. Through the intervention of a helpful passerby, the victim was able to contact her father, leading to her rescue. A medical report confirmed that the victim was five weeks pregnant,” the statement added.

It further added, “The suspect, Joy Ogbonna, is currently in police custody and will be arraigned before the court soon. Efforts are ongoing to arrest her accomplice, Golden Blessing, who is believed to be in Nigeria.”
