A sneak peek inside Parliament’s refurbished Chamber has gone viral as the House resumes sitting today at 2 pm.

The viral video showed the Interior of the Chamber of Parliament looking refurbished and sleek.

Also, reports suggest the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu has donated some fresh Kente for the Interior of the Chamber of Parliament.

However, some Ghanaians have reacted to the video, saying, “It’s always parliament that gets refurbished when their constituents who put them there do not have safe drinking water and their kids do not have classrooms and even furniture in them to study. The rich and powerful in society always feeds off the poor and vulnerable”.

Another stated, “We hope our parliamentarians work to justify the investments Ghana keeps putting at their disposal. Indeed, if all it takes to earn a seat in this space is for MPs to shout, slander or blindly support or oppose views & peers, then Ghana deserves WAY BETTER”.

“Please, what are they doing to the individuals who vandalised State property during the vetting?”, a netizen quizzed.

One more neizen added, “Every day they’re refurbishing but they don’t go and do anything sensible and beneficial to the state. These NDC and NPP guys must be totally removed from Government”.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament has announced that Parliament will commence its Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament.

According to a statement from the Office of the Speaker, parliament will commence sitting on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Parliament House in Accra.

This announcement follows an earlier notice dated October 6, 2025, with Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin announcing a postponement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

According to Alban Bagbin, the postponements are circumstances beyond my control.

In a statement issued from the Office of the Speaker of Parliament in Accra stated, “Pursuant to the notice to summon Parliament dated September 29, 2025, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is deferred until further notice due to circumstances beyond my control”.

The statement, however, did not provide reasons for the postponement.

However, the statement revealed that a new date would be communicated later.

The postponements mean that parliamentary proceedings, which were expected to resume in October after recess, will remain on hold.

The new announcement comes at a time when parliament is set to consider key legislative and policy matters, including the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.

Reports suggest, Sam George, Ntim Fordjour and 8 other MPs to reintroduce the Anti-LGBTQ bill in Parliament as the House resumes today
