NewsWatch disturbing video as man gives cigarette to a toddler to smoke

A video has gone viral of a man giving a lit cigarette to a female toddler to smoke.

The circulating video has sparked massive outrage and criticism on the social media page in Ghana.

In the viral video, some men gave the toddler a lit cigarette to smoke, with the young girl crying and also coughing.

The toddler in the video attempted to smoke the cigarette as she was ordered by the men.

The group of men could later be heard laughing when the toddler tried placing the cigarette in her mouth.

One man later took the cigarette back from the toddler.

Many commentators under the post shared by the State News noted that the behaviour of the men could harm the toddler, calling on the Ghana Police Service to intervene.

“This is the utmost stupidity! @GhPoliceService@joyce_bawah@MoGCSP_Ghana please arrest these morons with immediate effect”, a netizen stated.

“This b@sted doesn’t deserve to be a father to this innocent child who knows nothing. @GhPoliceService pick that con man up before he turns the child’s life into something else”, one more X user added.

One more X user stated, “I don’t think they let the kod smoke it. Parents usually give items to kids when they’re crying for them, but will quickly take them back.

It’s wrong because it’s a cigarette, but it’s a common thing that parents do when the kid is disturbing them”.

Additionally, a netizen added, “The fact that the girl was crying because they haven’t given her the cigarettes clearly indicates that this is not the first time they have allowed her to smoke…..

One disadvantage of dating or marrying a guy who smokes weed”

In another disturbing news, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Isaac Adonteng, a 54-year-old, following the tragic death of his 13-year-old daughter, Celestine Adonteng, at Kokrobite.

A statement issued by the Weija Divisional Police command indicated that preliminary investigations show that the suspect, Isaac Adonteng, allegedly physically assaulted his deceased daughter with a cane, a metal pipe, and other objects after accusing her of taking food meant for her younger sibling.

The police statement further revealed that despite the child suffering multiple injuries, he reportedly failed to seek medical attention and confined her in a room, where she was later found unconscious.

She was rushed to the Police Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The statement added that the Police have recovered a cutlass and a metal pipe believed to have been used in the assault.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that the incident happened at Kokrobite in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

Reports suggest the 13-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her parents, who accused her of eating her younger brother’s food.

The 13-year-old victim has been identified as Celestine and was assaulted by her father, Issah Mohammed, and her stepmother, Yaa Grace.

According to reports, Yaa Grace, the stepmother, informed him of the alleged incident which led to the alleged beating.

Eyewitnesses revealed Issah used a cane, shovel, and cutlass to beat the young girl, resulting in severe internal injuries and locked her in a separate room without food or water, leading to her death the next day.

Reports suggest neighbours reported the suspicious incident to the police, resulting in the couple’s arrest.

Celestine’s biological mother’s relative, Justina Acquah, has revealed that Issah has a long history of abuse.

The body of the victim has been deposited at the Police Hospital for autopsy.
