Ken Agyapong’s welfare policy form

A netizen has shared a video of NPP presidential aspirant Ken Agyapong’s welfare policy form, filled by delegates, allegedly thrown away.

In the viral video, a narrator in the video was heard saying, “The forms Kennedy asked people to fill out look at them, I lived in Bantama. The forms have been thrown away. Anyone who filled the form should go and check from his constuency if the form is still there”.

The forms are not taken anywhere; after they are filled, they are abandoned them here”.

However, the spokesperson for New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful Ken Agyapong, Kwasi Kwarteng, has accused Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a spokesperson for the Bawumia campaign of spreading the alleged video.

According to Kwasi Kwarteng, no one is throwing away forms, arguing that the narrative is fake.

In a social media post, Kwasi Kwarteng wrote, “Dennis Miracles Aboagye, this post reeks of panic.

You’re panicking because delegates are happy that, for once, someone is seriously gathering data to build a credible welfare system that will actually take care of party people and delegates. So instead of engaging dispassionately, you’ve resorted to lies and propaganda.

No one is “throwing away forms.” That narrative is fake, and you know it. You and your team have photocopied fake forms and dumped them deliberately, just to create a false impression and water down its effect. The real problem is that Kennedy’s approach exposes how empty your side’s promises have always been.

Your boss had eight years in power, eight years as Vice President, the second most powerful person in the country, and did nothing credible for the party grassroots. Nothing. Yet after losing power, you suddenly want delegates to believe fairy tales about appointments and welfare.

Delegates are not commodities. They are rational beings. Many who joined the party way earlier may be more politically experienced than your candidate, and they can tell sincerity from desperation.

Kennedy Agyapong has a record: when he promises, he delivers. That’s why you’re uncomfortable and panicking.

Liars!”, the post ended.

Meanwhile, Joseph Osei-Owusu, the Chairperson of the NPP Presidential Elections Committee has assured the public of a credible, transparent, and well-secured process.

He added, “Everything that has to be done is done. The Commission is ready, the police are ready, and everything they need to be able to do their work has been provided”.

“At every stage, we involved the contestants themselves. We showed them the list, we listened to concerns, and we resolved them together,” he said.

“If you go to our IT centre now, you will find representatives of the contestants verifying everything and endorsing it before final printing,” he added.

A total of 211,849 delegates are expected to vote at 333 polling centres across the country’s 276 constituencies.
