A Ghanaian man rewards a Nigerian resident with a brand new Samsung smartphone, after she found his lost phone and returned it to him despite not having a smartphone herself.
The man expressed excitement over her honesty and urged others to emulate such goodwill.
According to the man, he lost his phone at Lapaz and traced it down to a location where the lady named Chioma was keeping it for him.
Speaking in a viral video, the man stated, “I lost my phone at Lapaz. I traced it down and eventually went to the location where it was being kept. When I arrived, a lady named Chioma had the phone with her, and she was waiting for me to claim it. I found her and took the phone”.
“The most interesting part is that Chioma, who found the phone, didn’t have a smartphone herself. That shows the level of her sincerity, and for such good conduct, I wanted to show her my appreciation by gifting her a brand new Samsung smartphone,” he said.
He added, “I had been looking for her since Friday because the phone I bought for her was ready then, and I couldn’t wait to gift it to her. On Friday, I came to give her the phone, but she wasn’t around. I came back on Saturday, but I still couldn’t find her. Thankfully, today being Monday, I tried my luck, and by God’s grace, I found her”.
Chioma, the Nigerian lady, expressed her gratitude to the man, saying, “Thank you! My God will bless you in Jesus’ name. Everything you intend to do will prosper in Jesus’ name.”
Some netizens reacting to the viral video stated, “Why do I feel like they’re sitting in another and got caught, and this is the cover-up?”
A netizen added, “The story no dey add up to me. Based on the info he is giving, there is nothing that shows she was willing to give the phone back to him. So he means he never called back, or no one called for her to answer to find out who had the phone, but just traced where the phone lost. Ah well”
One more X user added, “She doesn’t even look Nigerian. I must believe she’s lived here for many years, as the environment has changed her to become more Ghanaian. Trust me, if she were new in Ghana, the phone wouldn’t have come back”.
A Ghanaian added, “Actually, there are some good Nigerians, but the bad ones are plenty, I swear.. if most Nigerians are patriotic and sincere like Chioma, Nigeria will be a better country”
