A video has surfaced of Heaven Way Church Members of Mama Pat, also known as Patricia Asiedua Asiamah (Agradaa), expressing joy as their leader has been released from prison today.
In a viral video, Agradaa was spotted with her faced powered in a white T-shirt as she led a worship session after her release.
Earlier, a video surfaced of Members of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, led by Evangelist Mama Pat, gathering at Nsawam Prison in anticipation of her release.
In the viral videos shared on X, Agradaa’s church members were gathered in a branded white T-shirt with Mahama Pat’s photo and the inscription “Pray every day” at Nsawam Prison ahead of her release today.
Agradaa’s church members were captured in high spirits as the await the release of their leader.
Additionally, Angel Asiamah, the husband of Agradaa, has shared a video on Facebook on March 3, 2026.
Agradaa was spotted in all white with Angel Asiamah and some family members, all dressed in white.
The video shared by Angel Asiamah was captioned, “Thank God my wife is finally home.”
The development follows: Agradaa’s reduced sentence by the Amasaman High Court, describing Agradaa’s original punishment as harsh and excessive under the circumstances of the case.
The Amasaman High Court, in its decision, affirmed her conviction but exercised its discretion to vary the sentence, reducing the 15 years of hard labour earlier imposed by the trial court.
Agradaa’s revised sentence takes effect from July 3, 2025, the date of her conviction, which means she will serve a total of 12 months in prison.
The court decision will now see Agradaa being freed from prison by July 2026.
The Amasaman High Court added that although the offences for which Agradaa was convicted warranted punishment, the severity of the initial sentence was disproportionate under the circumstances, justifying a downward adjustment.
Meanwhile, Evangelist Patricia Asiamah has broke her silence ahead of her release from the Nsawam Prison today, March 3, 2026.
According to Agradaa, she was scared after she was sentenced to prison and thought she was already dead.
She further disclosed that she never believed she was going to be jailed for 15 years, arguing that what crime did she commit?
In a video posted by the Ghana Prisons Service, Agradaa discussed her experiences during her time in prison before her release.
In the video, she emphasised her strong faith in God, which helped her endure her time in the cells.
Speaking in a video shared by the Ghana Prison Service, Agradaa stated, “When I was coming, I was scared, I knew as for prison I am dead already, when I got to the prison gate, the only thing I said was ‘I leave everything to God and asked for mercy’, because I did not know what would happen.
When I was sentenced to 15 years in prison, from the first day, I did not believe it. I asked myself what crime I had committed, so I did not believe I would be in jail for 15 years. So I believe that only prayers and God’s words were the only things that could help me. First of all, I will give glory to God, and this does not surprise me too much because I believe God can do it”.
Agradaa also shared how she drew inspiration from the stories of prominent individuals who had been imprisoned, using their experiences as a guide to navigate her own journey.
She added, “God’s work brought me to prison, so I took inspiration from those who were also jailed because of God’s work. So I read the Bible to see how they got their freedom, and it was the word of God and prayer”.
Also, Richard Asare Baffour Esq, the lawyer for Agradaa, detailed that the earliest her client could be released is 3rd March, 2026.
Speaking in a recent video shared on X, Agradaa lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour stated, “When a court imposes a jail term, the prison itself has a remission scheme in place which is available for every prisioner of which Mama Pat is also included.
If you qualify for this, the jail term is divided into three; the prisoner gets to spend two-thirds of it, and the state also takes care of the one-third. In our case, 12 months was handed down to our client, that will translate to 8 months”.
He added, “Meaning if you are to do your computation 8 months sentence from the 3rd of July, that will take her to the 3rd of March. Which is out there is this speculation he will be out on 3rd March, and it is rightly so, it is not any special dispensation given to her”.
