Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, a member of Parliament for Hohoe, has said Ken Agyapong, a defeated NPP presidential aspirant, is better following the outcome of the party’s primaries.

According to the Hohoe MP, Ken Agyapong’s body language shows a bitter man.

He further claimed that Ken Agyapong contributed to his own defeat in the NPP election after he failed to challenge the flawed NPP primaries process.

Speaking in an interview on Channel TV on February 1, 2026, the Hohoe MP explained, “We have seen in his body language that the man is bitter. Kennedy Agyapong is bitter,” he alleged.

“The NPP’s primary was rigged from day one. You don’t rig an election at the polling station; the rigging happens in the process that leads to the election itself,” he said.

“Instead of lobbying NEC to adopt a bottom-up approach, he agreed to the top-down approach. The very day he agreed, I told myself he would never win, and that is why he is bitter,” Tsekpo stated.

“He allowed the process to go through, and he is now facing the music,” he added.

Also, Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo further debunked rumours that the NDC fears Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Hohoe MP boldly stated that the NDC is unshaken by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) choice of flagbearer, adding that Bawumia is not a threat.

He added, “We’re not perturbed by the candidate they have elected. We would have been a bit shaken if Kennedy Agyapong had come. Because this is a candidate that things we didn’t know about him have been put out by his own party people, including Kennedy Agyapong. All that we need to do in 2028 is play the videos they’ve brought out.

“All the secrets we need about Bawumia, his own party people have brought them out. So, it’s not a challenge; we are going to start our reorganisation. We are not afraid of Dr Bawumia; we are going to meet him squarely when the time comes”.

He added, “It was a well-organised event, we congratulate them,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ken Agyapong has accepted the results of the party’s presidential primary, calling for all supporters to back Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Ken Agyapong, he pledges his support and has accepted the results declared by the EC.

He further called on his supporters to stay calm, respect the results as they work to win the 2028 election.

Speaking after the declaration of results by the Electoral Commission at the party headquarters in Accra on Saturday, January 31, Ken Agyapong stated, “I stand before you to pledge my support and also to accept the results declared by the EC. The delegates have spoken, and I want to plead with my supporters that they should stay calm and respect the results and help all of us to work together to win the 2028 elections”.

“I want to thank my supporters and advise you that in an election, you can win and lose. So if you lose, you need to accept it in good faith,” he added.

“So let’s all of us throw our support to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer, and all I say is NPP we need unity in the party, but unity comes with respect. we have to respect each other’s views,” he stated.
