“We will see what the real polls look like on January 31st”- Bryan Acheampong to Pollsters

News“We will see what the real polls look like on January 31st”- Bryan Acheampong to Pollsters

Bryan Acheampong, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary, has dismissed polls putting him at just 1% support among delegates ahead of the party’s primary.

According to Dr Bryan Acheampong, polls putting him at just 1 per cent are sponsored and meaningless.

He asserted that on January 31st, that is the only poll that truly matters.

Speaking at his campaign office on Wednesday, October 15, Dr Acheampong stated, “I mean, I’ve seen some polls that put me at 1% and some aspirants who have not even left their bedrooms at 20%, and it’s quite interesting,” he said.

“So please, I’m not concerned about that at all. The day of the election, January 31st, we will see what the real polls look like.”

He added, “Many people come with the proposal that, ‘Oh, you are winning, you are at 90%, you are at 70%, give us money so that we can go and put it in the papers, put it on online posts.’ I’m not interested in any of that,” he stated.

In related news, Mussa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has said Kennedy Agyapong and other contenders face a daunting task to catch up with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Mussa Dankwa, it is still not over, but it is highly unlikely that every undecided voter will go to one candidate.

He highlighted that Dr Bawumia’s advantage will be difficult to overturn.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Monday, September 29, Mussa Dankwa stated, “It is still not over. I won’t say it is over, but if you look at where the leading candidate is, it is highly unlikely that every undecided voter will go to one candidate”.

“We believe that Kennedy has to do a lot more to bring Dr Bawumia down, or his other competitors should do a lot more in order to drag Dr Bawumia from where he is,” he added.

Mussa Dankwa’s remarks come following a latest poll by the Global Info Analytics, which reveals Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President, has taken a commanding lead in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.

The poll results published on social media platforms by the Global Info Analytics revealed that Dr Bawumia secured 47 per cent of delegate support and is the clear front-runner ahead of the NPP’s primaries.

Dr Bawumia continues to enjoy the confidence of nearly half of the delegates surveyed.

Kennedy Agyapong, the former Assin Central legislator, emerged second with 17 per cent of delegates’ support.

Dr Bryan Acheampong secured only 3 per cent of delegates’ votes, while Dr Yaw Adutwum and Ing Kwabena Agyapong secured 1 per cent of delegates’ votes respectively.

Also, Dickson Kyere-Duah, the Member of Parliament for Berekum West, has told the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that whoever wins their flagbearership race will taste a very bitter defeat in 2028.

The NDC MP emphasised that it doesn’t matter who the NPP will present in the 2028 elections, as they are going to be defeated.

According to Dickson Kyere-Duah, the NDC is poised to retain power in 2028.

Speaking on Joy News AM Show, Dickson Kyere-Duah stated, “For me, all five candidates on the ballot paper for NPP, we in the NDC are not so much interested in who wins, because whoever wins is definitely going to taste a very bitter defeat in 2028”.

“It doesn’t matter whether it is Kennedy Agyapong, Bawumia or whoever,” he added.
