Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has filed a police complaint against a man in a viral video, accusing her of having a sexual relationship with Tracy Shay, the teenager she informally adopted.
In the viral video, a young man accused Wendy Shay of being in a lesbian relationship with Tracy Shay, the young girl who became famous for dancing to her song “Is Too late”.
The young man further alleged that a spiritualist had told Wendy Shay to perform sexual acts on the minor, and also made baseless accusations and insulted her.
The Ghanaian musician later placed a bounty of GH¢5,000 as a reward for anyone who could help her identify the person behind the accusations.
However, Wendy Shay, yesterday, November 19, 2025, in a post on social media, shared an official statement revealing she had reported the issue to the Police.
According to her statement, the person behind the video has been traced to the United Arab Emirates.
Wendy Shay, in the statement, also told her fans, family and Ghanaians that the allegations are completely untrue and created with malicious intent.
Parts of her statement read, “The matter has been formally reported to the Ghana Police Service, and active investigations are underway. I have been informed that the individual behind the account has been traced to the United Arab Emirates, where he is currently employed with a construction company. Further steps are being taken through the appropriate channels to ensure he is held accountable for his actions.
“I am cooperating fully with the police and trust the investigation process to bring this matter to a swift and just resolution. I further encourage us all to continue standing against cyberbullying, online harassment, and malicious attacks on innocent people,” the statement read.
Some netizens reacting to Wendy Shay’s statement stated, “I’ll never understand what drives people to spread malicious lies against someone they have never met”.
“I will gladly snitch on that guy for free, cos to even think and imagine that only means he is either fantasising over that lil girl or something”, one netizen added.
One more X user added, “Don’t forgive him oo. These boys are doing the most to soil people’s hard work and sweat”

“I do not support cyberbullying or whatsoever to tarnish one’s image or brand, but if the Ghana Police can locate this guy and bring him to justice as we all hope for, then they can bring Ken Ofori Atta back to Ghana to answer questions. If not”, another netizen added.
