Solomon Owusu, the Director of Communications for the United Party, has told the Bawumia’s camp that they can market pork to the Muslim community for 100 years and still they not have buyers.

Speaking on Joy Prime, Solomon Owusu asserted that Dr Bawumia’s camp keeps claiming he is the most marketed person in the NPP, so he must be retained as flagbearer.

Solomon Owusu stated, “I hear my brothers, especially from the Bawumia camp, have been marketed. You could be a pork, this illustration my brother Ebo Buckman always uses, it is real, it is a living example.

You could be marketing pork in the Zongos or the Muslim community for 100 years, and you will still not have buyers. The fact that you are consistently sending pork to the muslim community does not mean… who is going to change”.

Solomon Owusu highlighted that Bawumia promised to stabilise and to make Ghanaians ‘ lives better, but failed.

He added, “No wind will blow when they remember what pork has done to them, when they remember that this was the same man who told us that when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose them and that he was coming to stabilise our economy and make Ghanaians live a better life”.

He further criticised Dr Bawumia over the cedi skyrocketing under the former NPP government and his introduction of the digital address system which he claims no one uses.

“He came, and the cedi skyrocketed to 17 cedis to a dollar, and he is the person that you are bringing to us? He brought a digital address system before he brought that, and took us 5 million dollars we had Google in this country. Everybody uses Google, that Ghana post whatever. Have you been using it?”, Solomon Owusu quizzed.

Also, Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has quizzed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on how they could parade the former vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as one of their candidates ahead of their primaries.

According to Lawyer Kpebu, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia helped former president Akufo-Addo unleash terror on Ghanaians.

He stressed that Dr Bawumia is deeply tainted by the economic and governance decisions of the Akufo-Addo era.

Lawyer Kpebu highlighted that on what record is Dr Bawumia going to campaign on after years of Ghanaians going through hardship under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration.

Speaking on The Key Point on Saturday, January 3, Martin Kpebu stated, “This whole range of candidates, it tells me one thing: the NPP is not ready for the 2028 election. They are not ready. This is the tone-deaf attitude that got them into opposition in the first place.

How can you parade Bawumia? Bawumia, who is a feather with Akufo-Addo? Such a man who helped Akufo-Addo to unleash terror on us, economic doldrums, right? Haircuts, left-right-centre. When… where is he going to get a better record to campaign? You have to bring somebody who is not tainted,” he said.

He added, “When it comes to Kennedy Agyapong, you know, he lacks the temperament and everything to be president, so we’ll not waste any more time on that,” he added.

“Bryan Acheampong, who wanted to take our hotels for a song. Bryan Acheampong wanted to take our hotels for a song, but for the leadership of Okudzeto, who mobilised Ghanaians. He will loot us dry. Bryan Acheampong will loot us dry,” he stated.

“He’s a good guy, but when you’re looking for a president, there must be that spark. He has not postured himself as someone who can be the father of the nation,” he said.

“Kwabena Agyapong, I have nothing to say that particularly. It’s just that his time is gone, that’s it,” he stated.

“They should bring the youngster, bring Boamah, so that he will contest 2028, lose, and then by 2032 everyone will say, ‘Yes, now he’s ripe,’” he stated.
