Reports suggest that at least 15 people have been confirmed dead following a tragic crash on the Peki–Tsame road in the Volta Region.
According to reports, the accident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
The devastating crash on the Peki–Tsame road involved two commercial vehicles carrying a total of 40 passengers.
Several injured victims who have sustained injuries are said to be currently receiving treatment at different health facilities nearby.
Reports suggest Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service responded to the scene and successfully rescued 25 survivors.
ADO1 Hope Bedzrah, the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, sharing details, indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the crash was due to a head-on collision between the two vehicles
Speaking to Citi News, ADO1 Hope Bedzrah stated, “When they got there, they realised that the two vehicles had been involved in a head-on collision. Preliminary investigations at the scene suggest that there were 40 occupants in the two vehicles”.

Reports suggest the tragic incident occurred at Buduatta Junction on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway in the Central Region.
The tragic road accident involved their private car with registration number DV 9546, a fuel tanker with registration number GN 4328-15, and a tipper truck with registration number GT 9026-26.
The information gathered suggests that the family were travelling from Winneba to Kasoa when their private vehicle lost control after a pickup vehicle made a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre, leading to a head-on collision with the tanker.
Reports suggest the husband and wife died at the scene, while the baby succumbed to injuries later at St. Gregory Catholic Hospital.
