Alan Kyerematen, the Leader of the United Party (UP), has claimed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the 2024 elections by 2.1 million votes because of the propaganda targeted at him.

The former NPP man disclosed that once he declared his intention to go independent, some NPP members started circulating statements aimed at discrediting him.

According to Alan Kyerematen, the NPP propaganda backfired, as many voters who recognised his departure from the party chose not to support the NPP.

Speaking in a one-to-one interview on United Television (UTV) Ghana, Alan Kyerematen stated, “Do you know that after leaving the party and contesting as an independent candidate, 2.1 million voters didn’t vote for the NPP? And after leaving too, they kept saying, if he wants to go, he should go. I said openly to people that the time was too short to organise people to vote for me”.

“Then there was propaganda that I didn’t have people to vote for me. Their own report after losing the election said, since they said Alan Kyerematen is an independent candidate, then we will also not vote for them,” he added.

He further hinted that more revelations would be made in due course.

“There are some things that, at the appropriate time, I will disclose,” he said.

Some netizens reacting to his claims stated, “Give this man 100 years, and he can’t even come third during a General Election here in Ghana ❗️

If someone was to be angry, it should be Kennedy, not you”.

A netizen added, “The host is so wise; keep it up, obaa

This man lies Tru his teeth like something

The question is why didn’t they vote for you???”

“Ahhh…so embarrassing, Alan paaaa.  What jaundice analysis is this…anokwa”, a netizen added.

Meanwhile, Solomon Owusu, a leading member of the United Party, has shockingly claimed that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 election defeat reports show Alan Kyeremanten’s exit from the party caused the party’s defeat.

According to Solomon Owusu, pages 68 and 69 of the NPP’s 2024 election reports clearly link Alan Kyeremanten’s exit to the party’s defeat.

The leading member of the Movement for Change is quoted by GHOne TV to have said, “Pages 68 and 69 of the NPP’s 2024 election defeat report clearly state that Alan Kyerematen’s exit caused the party’s loss in the 2024 elections”.

It will be recalled that Alan Kyerematen, an NPP bigwig, left the party after the NPP’s primaries defeat.

He left to form the Movement for Change to contest the 2024 general election as an independent candidate.

Also, Inusah Fuseini has said the NPP made a tragic mistake in letting Alan Kyerematen leave.

According to Inusah Fuseini, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made a tragic mistake in letting Alan Kyerematen leave the party.

He emphasised that if Alan’s United Party grows strong and formidable, that could signal the demise of the NPP.

Inusah Fuseini is quoted by TV3 to have said, The NPP made a tragic mistake by letting Alan Kyerematen leave their party. In my view, if the United Party grows strong and formidable, that will signal the demise of the NPP”.
