A tragic road accident on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway has claimed the lives of two people, with fourteen others injured.

Reports revealed that the tragic accident occurred on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway at Abakam.

The collission invovled a Toyota Corolla and a Sprinter bus, which left two dead and fourteen injured victims rushed to the hospital.

GHOne TV, Serwaa Amihere, who shared the news on her social media page, stated, “Two people have been confirmed dead following a road accident on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway at Abakam.

The crash, reported to the Elmina Fire Station at about 5:11 a.m., involved a Toyota Corolla and a Sprinter bus. Fourteen injured victims were rushed to the hospital”.

In related accident news on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway, a tragic collision claimed the lives of five people.

Reports suggest the tragic accident happened on Saturday, December 20, at Ayensudo Meyinda on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway.

The head-on collision was between a Toyota Hiace bus and a DAF truck.

The truck has been identified by the registration number GG 3227-25, and the bus with registration number GW 9373-22.

The course of the accident remains unclear, but both vehicles were badly mangled.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to the scene from the Komenda Fire Station.

The Firefighters freed the five deceased passengers trapped inside the Hiace bus, and the wreckage was also cleared to allow normal traffic flow and public safety.

Netizen on X reacting to the tragic news shared by Serwaa Amihere wrote, “You will be grateful to God when you know you’ve been on that stretch just a day ago”.

“A lot of passengers on the road…so these drivers want to use less hours and come back for more…”, a netizen added.

“So every blessed day, Ghana has to record a road accident where people go die? Hmm”, a netizen added.

A Ghanaian wrote, “They brought some of the injuries to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital”.

Additionally, a netizen added, “A wrong overtaking caused this. That is the major cause of accidents on our highways”.
