A Nigerian woman commercial sex worker in Sekondi, was allegedly assaulted by a client on Friday night, December 26, 2025.
The Nigerian woman has been identified as Nancy.
According to Nancy, the client agreed to pay GH¢50 for a short session after the agreed time had elapsed.
She revealed she was exhausted with the client and then demanded a refund, which led to a disagreement which escalated into an assault.
The State News who shared the story on X wrote, “A Nigerian woman identified as Nancy, who reportedly works as a commercial sex worker in Sekondi, has alleged that she was assaulted by a client on Friday night.
Speaking to Connect FM’s Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, Nancy said the client agreed to pay GH¢50 for a short session and took her to his residence. She explained that after the agreed time had elapsed, she told him she was exhausted and could not continue.
According to her account, the client then demanded a refund, which she refused, stating that the service had already been rendered. The situation reportedly escalated when he attempted to seize her mobile phone and subsequently assaulted her.
Nancy has since reported the matter to the Sekondi Police, who issued her with a medical form to seek hospital examination and treatment”.
Some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “Let’s put Nigeria aside, that man must be arrested immediately 50ghc and you do this some ashawo sef Dey vollect 1000 for short time arrest that animal”.
Another X user added, “The guy should remove 1 eye sef, the police should have arrested her immediately. Prostitution is a crime in Ghana 🇬🇭. These stupid fools are the ones spreading HIV/AIDS in Ghana. You leave your country to practise Prostitution in Ghana. Nonsense”.
“Kwasias3m sei… if not Ghana, where will you hear such nonsense?… unserious country which is basically a playground for all kinds of foreigners….”, another netizen added.
Additionally, an X user added, “Soliciting for sex is a crime. U finish engaging in the crime. U paid for the time u got. And then u beat somebody’s daughter this way. He should be jailed. If he can beat a stranger this way, imagine what he’s doing to those close to him. He’s a shame to all men”.
A last netizen added, “Is commercial sex work legal in Ghana?”
“Why do people fool like this? Ah, 50gh so u’ll trade ur freedom smh”, a Ghanaian added.
