Nana Agradaa, also known as Evangelist Mama Pat, yesterday, January 21, 2026, made another court appearance concerning her 15-year jail term appeal.
Agradaa, during her court appearance, dropped a coded message to Ghanaians.
In the viral image making rounds on social media, Agradaa was captured with a nose mask, with her head covered with a Bible quotation on her handkerchief, saying, “1 John 5:4”, and “1 John 5:10”.
A netizen who shared the news on X wrote, “Agradaa sends coded message to Ghanaians
1 John 5:4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son”.
It will be recalled that Agradaa is serving a 15-year jail term after she was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences.
She was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court.
Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.
Her charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.
In the ad, Agradaa claimed she has the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.
The Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, highlighted that Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and showed no remorse during proceedings.
In related news on Agradaa, she has been ordered to pay GH¢100,000 to gospel musician Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye.
This brings an end to the defamation lawsuits filed against Empress Gifty after both parties reached an amicable settlement.
Lawyer for Agradaa revealed on January 20, 2026, that the settlement was adopted as a Consent Judgment by both the Tema Land Court and the Tema Main Court, which now closes the two cases filed in May and June last year.
The gospel musician had sued Agradaa over a series of social media publications, which she described as defamatory and damaging to her reputation, and sought GH¢40 million in damages.
Empress Gifty further requested a perpetual injunction to restrain further defamatory publications and the removal of the offending content from social media.
Following negotiation, the matter was resolved without proceeding to a full trial.
“Under the terms of the settlement, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua agreed to pay GH¢100,000 to Empress Gifty to cover legal fees and related expenses.
She also committed to publicly retracting the statements, issuing a public apology, and requesting that the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) facilitate the removal of the disputed publications from social media platforms.
Richard Asare Baffour confirmed that all the agreed conditions have been fulfilled. The GH¢100,000 has been paid in full, and a public apology has already been rendered in line with the settlement terms”, citinews reported.
