Justin Frimpong, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, has debunked allegations of vote buying in the party’s primaries on January 31, 2026.
According to Justin Kodua, there is no evidence of delegates being given money to influence their voting decisions.
Speaking in an interview with Adom TV, Justin Kodua stated, “So far I have not seen anyone giving money to delegates, so such claims would only denigrate the party’s image. Money will not influence people, so it should be disregarded.
If you give me money, I will take it for transport, but so far, there is no such information,” he clarified.
However, There has been a brief misunderstanding at the Tema East polling station, as some delegates have expressed their dissatisfaction with the polling station coordinators.
The NPP delegates are accusing the polling station coordinators of allegedly withholding funds sent from Bryan Acheampong’s camp, which were intended for their transportation and feeding.
In the viral video shared, one delegate stated, “I am speaking to Bryan Acheampong, the money he gave the Tema East former cordinator he has still not shared the money. People are saying that if the money is not shared, they will not vote.
He should call his people to come and share the money with those willing to vote for him to vote. They should bring the money right now; there are a lot of people waiting over here. If Bryan Acheampong is listening, people are not sharing his money”.
In another video, this time in Odododiodioo, some delegates also voiced similar concerns, saying, “I am telling Bryan Acheampong that if he doesn’t win the election, he should blame his campaign team. They’re not releasing the money to us. We’ve received money from the other candidates except him”.
Also, the Asylum Down Electoral Area Coordinator in the Klottey-Korle Constituency is being accused of allegedly taking GH₵700 meant for their transportation from flagbearer aspirant Bryan Acheampong.
“Everyone received their money, but when it got to our turn, you refused to give us ours”, a delegate added.
Also, an NPP delegate, identified as Eric Abbey, has revealed he has received money from the camps of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ken Agyapong and Bryan Acheampong.
The NPP delegates highlighted that someone wanted to run away with Bryan Acheampong’s money, but they have all now received it.
He, however, declined to reveal the amount he received from each camp.
Speaking to the media, the NPP delegate identified as Eric Abbey stated, “Everything is going on well, no conflict has occurred, Bryan’s money somebody wanted to run away with it, but they have brought it back, and everyone has received theirs, so when we get to the box we will decide who to vote for.
When asked about the amount he receive he declines to answer, saying, “ I cannot mention the amount. When they brought it, they said lorry fare. I have gotten Bryan, Kennedy and Bawumia. I have received from all three”.
