Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has detailed that Bryan Acheampong could have overtaken Ken Agyapong in the NPP presidential primaries.

The Pollster explained that with a longer campaign period, Bryan Acheampong would have overtaken the former Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong.

Mussa Dankwah is quoted by GHOne in a news card report to have said, “With a longer campaign period, Bryan Acheampong would have overtaken Kennedy Agyapong”.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Mussa Dankwah explained that Bryan overperformed Global InfoAnalytics best case scenarios.

He stated, “Bryan overperformed in our best case. Yes, he did. [Bryan’s performance surprised me]. Even though we saw it coming. In the headline poll, he was at 6 per cent. But in our prediction, we doubled him to 13 per cent. That was probably making him look pessimistic”.

Dr Bawumia in the NPP primaries polled 110,645, representing 56.48 per cent of the total valid votes cast, which was confirmed by Electoral Commission officials at the party’s headquarters.

Ken Agyapong came in second place with 46, 554 votes (23.76%), while Dr Bryan Acheampong secured third position with 36,303 votes (18.53%).

They were followed by Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum in fourth place with 1,999 votes (1.02%) and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in fifth with 402 votes, representing 0.21%.

In addition, Mussa Dankwah has said that Ken Agyapong’s team are a lot more bitter following their defeat in the NPP presidential primaries.

He highlighted that polling data suggests that the problem of disunity within the NPP is not coming from the grassroots but from the top levels.

Speaking on JoyNews on February 2, 2026, Mussa Dankwah explained, “Polling data shows that about 80% of NPP delegates are hopeful there will be unity in the party. That’s the grassroots. The problem is not with them, but at the top level of the campaigns,” he said.

“Once we are able to reconcile them, I don’t think there will be a problem at the bottom,” he noted.

Mussa Dankwah added, “Moving forward, how do you do that? What role does Kennedy Agyapong want to play going forward? What role does Bryan Acheampong want to play in the campaign? They must be seen to place a sense of unity above everything else”.

“For where NPP is now, they don’t need any division in their ranks to face the NDC going forward. I believe, and I sincerely hope, that both camps would do that. What you sometimes feel is that people around Ken’s team are a lot more bitter,” he shared.

Meanwhile, Maurice Ampaw, a Legal practitioner, has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) do not need a Vice President from the Ashanti Region.

According to Maurice Ampaw, the Ashanti Region already loves Dr Bawumia, adding that Bryan Acheampong and he should be picked as running mates for the NPP.

He detailed that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), who was Dr Bawumia’s running mate, should sit somewhere for Bryan Acheampong, whom he labelled as the darling boy whose future is bright.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, Maurice Ampaw stated, “Bryan Acheampong, the darling boy, if it was up to me alone, he would be the vice president straight away. He is a vice president material.

The Ashanti Region, we love Bawumia, we don’t need a Vice President from the Ashanti Region. Napo should find somewhere and sit. Bryan has shown that he has constituencies before God and man, if Bawumia is put asided Bryan could have defeated Ken Agyapong because the vote that went for Bawumia will go to Bryan.

Bryan has taken over; he has youth on his side, knows how to speak and has the knowledge. Security-wise, the NDC is afraid of him. A vice president who has money and has wisdom, on top of security issues and someone the NDC is afraid of”, he added.
