Ghanaian musician Sam Sarfo Junior, popularly known as Showboy, according to reports, has been charged with blackmail and sextortion.

Showboy was charged with blackmail and sextortion after appearing in court yesterday, February 5, 2026.

He has been remanded into Police custodu for two weeks together with his two associates.

Also, reports suggest Showboy was transferred to the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service after his court appearance.

In a post shared by Albert Nat Hyde, commonly known as Bongo Ideas, he wrote, “Showboy was transferred to the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service this afternoon after appearing in court, where he was charged with blackmail and sextortion.

Together with himself, his two associates remain in custody after being remanded for two weeks!”

Meanwhile, some days ago, Showboy was spotted handcuffed and interacting with police officers.

In the video, a police officer who identified herself as ASP was heard engaging Showboy.

A Police Officer from the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) Headquarters was also heard, who stated their boss ordered them to bring Showboy in for detention.

He later requested water and asked to speak to his doctor, claiming he is a psychiatric patient.

The update follows the home Showboy, which was stormed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) some days ago.

Viral videos making rounds on social media showed Showbo being arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

Showboy in the viral video was heard saying, “With no warrant, I’m not following you to the police station. You invade my private residence, and I ask you for the warrant of arrest, and you show me your ID card”.

He was spotted refusing arrest as CID officers reportedly raided his home over the alleged blackmail of entrepreneur David Mensah (Davido GH).

Showboy has been accused of 3 years of harassment, blackmail, and cyberbullying.

Showboy’s brouhaha follows a Ghanaian citizen who has approached the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) seeking urgent intervention against musician and blogger Kwabena Sarfo, known as Showboy, over persistent harassment, blackmail, cyberbullying, and defamation.

The petitioner claims that for the past three years, Showboy has used social media and live streams to make false and damaging statements linking them to criminal activities. He allegedly blackmailed the petitioner, posting private images online and publicly insulting them whenever threats were resisted.

Moments after CID officers raided his house, Showboy took to Snapchat as a video circulating online shows him in a car heading out, reiterating his refusal to submit to an arrest without a warrant.

He boldly declared, “No warrant, no arrest”.

Also, reports suggest, ShowBwoy’s manager and another person are in police custody after ShowBwoy reportedly resisted arrest and escaped this morning.

His Range Rover has also been seized and is currently at the Police CID Headquarters.
