A 53-year-old man, identified as Adjei Owusu Afiriyie, has been arrested in the Ashanti Region for allegedly selling sobolo and akpeteshie laced with weed.

According to reports, the police seized barrels of akpeteshie, bottles of Alomo Bitters, and quantities of the suspicious sobolo at De-Vicky’s pub.

Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing.

Some netizens reacting to the news wrote, “Dem for make he drink half of the barrel”.

“Ei people dey drink things oo. Akpetehie plus weed eiii. It’s like mixing petrol and diesel”, another X user stated.

A netizen claimed, “Release this man, he’s only coming up with the right concoction. He ain’t did nothing wrong”.

“Mixing sobolo, weed and Akpeteshi together for human consumption!! Doesn’t it have serious health implications?”, another Ghanaian added.

Additionally, a netizen added, “I’m fully convinced he’s first to be caught, but there are a lot of people out there selling this dangerous combo. I fear for the youth” .

“Amen, they osu plenty weed pubs Dey accra Dey everywhere he couldn’t pay the obvious amount so yeah scape goat him nobody be kiddie for here”, an X user added.

In related news, the Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with a robbery attack in Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.

According to the Police, the robbery took place in December 2025.

The suspects are said to have simultaneously attacked the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area at Nkaseim.

During the attack, they made away with two AK47  rifles, stole some cash amounts from the bank, GHC14,000.00 from a cocoa buying company, and GHC12,000.00 from the gold buying company.

The suspects have also been accused of shooting and injuring an employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company.

In a social media post, the Ghana Police Service stated, “POLICE ARREST FIVE SUSPECTS FOR ROBBERY AT NKASEIM

The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery attack that took place in December 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region.

On 2nd December 2025, the suspects, together with other accomplices armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso-Tepa road and simultaneously attacked the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area at Nkaseim.

During the attack, the assailants made away with two AK47  rifles, stole some cash amounts from the bank, Fourteen Thousand Cedis (GHC14,000.00) from the cocoa buying company, and Twelve thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC12,000.00) from the gold buying company.

They also shot and injured an employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company”.
