The Parliament of Ghana has disclosed that the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Adam Sukparu, are both receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.
Parliament, in a statement, expressed deep concern over a road traffic accident involving two members of parliament.
In an official statement, they showed compassion with the two ministers and extended sincere compassion to their families, constituents and the public.
The statement further disclosed that both Ministers are in stable condition and responding positively to treatment.
Also, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Speaker of parliament, the leadership from both sides of the House and other MPs paid a visit to the MPs.
Recall the Minister of Education and the Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technology were involved in a road accident.
Reports suggest the two Ministers are in stable condition following a road accident on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
According to reports, the accident happened in the early hours of Thursday, February 12.
The two ministers in their convoys were travelling to the Upper West Region to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.
In a statement issued the same day, Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, stated, “The Office of the Honourable Minister for Education. Hon. Haruna Iddrisu wishes to inform the public that the Minister and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga- Tumu Road today.
The Ministers and their respective teams were en route to official engagements to commemorate the 40th Anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education in the Upper West Region when the incident occurred.
All members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical attention.
The Office expresses its appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern. Further updates will be communicated, as necessary”.
News also broke that they were airlifted to Accra following a near-fatal road accident, with videos surfacing on social media of the moment Haruna Iddrisu and Adams Sukparu, were airlifted.
