Hajia4Reall’s name pops up in RNAQ’s divorce case

Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Reall, a Ghanaian socialite-turned-musician, has been mentioned in the brouhaha surrounding the divorce of business mogul Richard Nii Armah Quaye and his former wife, Joana Coffie.

According to Joana Coffie, Richard Nii Armah Quaye gave their house in Trasacco to Hajia4Reall.

She also mentioned a Range Rover Velar (registration number M-2020) and a Bentley (DV 5268 E).

In the court documents, she stated, “In April 2021, the respondent deserted the marital home in Dansoman to stay with ‘Hajia4Reall’ in our Trasacco estate house. He did this after initially offering to relocate me to a new house, which I declined,” Joana Coffie stated in the document.

“In response to the claim that she denied him sexual intercourse, the petitioner contends that, for fear of contracting a sexually transmitted disease, she felt compelled to abstain from intimacy with the respondent because his womanising had become unbearable, and he was allegedly engaging in mostly unprotected relations with multiple women, including Hajia4Reall and others,” the document stated.

“She also claimed that the respondent was fond of inviting women to the East Legon house to entertain him, and he ended up engaging in intimate relations with many of them,” the document added.

Speaking in an interview with UK-based Ghanaian TikTok personality Tr0uble Carlos, the woman, identified as Abena, revealed the role Joana played in her former husband’s early life and career.

According to her, Joana met Richard Nii Armah Quaye at age 18 shortly after completing SHS in 2002, and the two later began dating.

“She met him when they were both still young and trying to find their way,” Abena said.

She went on to claim that both gained admission to the University of Professional Studies, Accra, but Joana allegedly gave up her place after being persuaded to put her education on hold and work while RNAQ completed his studies.

“She decided to pause school and support him until he was done,” Abena stated.

Abena further alleged that her cousin made financial contributions toward his education both in Ghana and abroad, and later supported the establishment of Bills Micro-credit.

She also spoke about chállenges within the marriage, claiming things began to change as success came.

“As the money was coming, the man started changing,” she said.

It also means they were involved in a love relationship for several years before they finally tied the knot in 2010.

“… After their education, the petitioner worked at Makola as a shop attendant in a textile boutique, while the respondent worked at his mother’s drinking bar, preparing cocktails of local brews for sale,” part of the document stated.

“… The petitioner, after dropping out, worked at two fast-food restaurants as a cashier and was able to save most of her wages. The couple opened a joint account with S.G. S.S.B Ltd and later invested the funds in a product operated by Data Bank Ltd, which matured in 2018 with a value of GH¢10,151.17,” the document noted.

“… In the following year (2009), the respondent completed his studies and returned to Ghana unemployed. The petitioner was then working with Unibank Ltd as a temporary bulk teller at the Kaneshie branch.

“The respondent, together with a friend, Ankama, pitched a business idea to the petitioner and convinced her to invest. She withdrew nearly GH¢3,000 from her account and gave it to the respondent as start-up capital for the microfinance business,” the document added.
