He disclosed that his friendship with the PAC Chairperson would not prevent them from carrying out their duties.

Sam George further disclosed that he is a tough nut to crack, adding that he came prepared, knowing full well his colleagues are only returning the favour for what he did to NPP ministers.

Speaking to the media after the encounter, Sam George stated, “Konadu is a very good friend. Abena is a friend as well, and maybe that’s part of the reason why our exchanges are very heated, because we do this in our regular conversations. But my point is very simple. The fact that we are friends does not negate the fact that the work has to be done”.

“I’ve sat on this committee for eight years. I’ve been someone who has toughly questioned people, and I know that my colleagues are only returning the favour for what I did to NPP ministers.”

He added, “But I’m a tough nut to crack, and so that’s why I come prepared. The bottom line is, you can ask me any question, but you just need to give me the audience as well to respond, because if I’m responding and you don’t allow me to respond, then it becomes a monologue; it’s not a conversation, and people need to be able to get appreciation.”

“I think that Abena and Konadu do their work as Members of Parliament. They do a very good job of scrutinising and asking probing questions, and I will also do my job of holding my own and stating my position.

“So, no hard feelings, no bad blood. I’m going to join them for lunch,” the Ningo Prampram legislator added.

Sam George’s comments follow his clash with Abena Osei-Asare on Monday, May 18, 2026, when he took his seat at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) sitting.

The tensions flared when Sam George clashed with Abena Osei-Asare over poor service delivery by some telcos.

Sam George explained that the Mahama administration had already directed telecom companies to expand infrastructure to improve network quality.

He stated, “Private businesses are about making profit and those profits they paid to you over eight years at the finance ministry as corporate taxes. Policy decision and policy leadership ought to make sure that we took steps to protect the customer, and I’m saying that we, under this reset agenda and under a responsible government, have done so”.

During his submission, Osei-Asare attempted to interrupt and urged him to go straight to the point, which led to a tense confrontation.

Abena Osei-Asare criticised Sam George for politicising the issue when he attempted to blame the previous administration.
