Kwadwo Poku, an Energy Analyst and former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that if the former Assin Central MP Ken Agyapong decides to leave the party, the NPP will not collapse.
According to Kwadwo Poku, the NPP will remain strong even if former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong decides to leave.
Kwadwo Poku noted Ken Agyapong’s influence within the NPP but stressed that no individual is bigger than the party.
Speaking to Eyewitness News on Monday, June 22, Mr Poku acknowledged Kennedy Agyapong’s influence within the NPP but stressed that no individual is bigger than the party.
He cited the social experiment in New York involving a renowned symphony musician to make his point, saying, “There is a social experiment in New York. There is a man who plays the symphony there. Anytime he plays, you cannot get a ticket because the wealthy in New York buy his tickets. The same man was put at the subway and was asked to play, but nobody gave him money while he played there”.
According to him, the experiment demonstrates that an individual’s perceived importance is often shaped by the platform and institution they are associated with.
“This means that your importance is with the company you keep. No single person is bigger than the NPP or NDC. Nobody gives these two political parties that credit enough,” he stated.
He, however, indicated that he would personally encourage Ken Agyapong to remain within the party.
“I will sit with Ken Agyapong and beg him anytime and any day to stay with the NPP, but if we cannot reconcile and he leaves the NPP, his departure will not collapse the NPP,” Kwadwo Poku added.
His comment comes on the back of Ken Agyapong, who has vowed to take action against members of his own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), starting in June or July 2027.
According to Ken Agyapong, the NPP thinks he is stupid to come and follow them again, warning that from July 2027, they will see action from him.
Speaking on Net 2 TV, the former NPP flagbearer aspirant, Ken Agyapong, stated, “It will not be long when you travel the way they respect you, then when you get here. Somebody like KOKA is saying my head has been operated on. He does not know what will happen to him. NPP people, are you ready? I am saying June, July 2027, me and you action in Ghana, you will be surprised, you think I am stupid.
You think I am stupid to come and follow you guys again. If you were to say ten sins of Ken Agyapong, you wait and see what will happen. I am not afraid of you, you wait and see. I have given you the time, June 2027, you will see action in this country”.
Meanwhile, a senior aide to former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has fired shots at the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Ken Agyapong, following his recent threats against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, nobody can threaten the NPP or hold the party to ransom.
He argued that Ken Agyapong is tarnishing the image of the party with his repeated threats and public criticisms.
Miracles Aboagye noted that if Ken has personal issues with people, they are not the NPP.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye quizzed whether Ken Agyapong would have tolerated such behaviour if he had won the NPP presidential primaries.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on June 19, 2029, Dennis Miracles Aboagye stated, “If you have personal issues with people, are they the NPP? So, if he was the one who won the flagbearership and Dr Bawumia was doing this to him, would he be happy? Why? You don’t threaten the NPP.
“You don’t threaten the NPP, If you want something to be done, you don’t threaten the party to get it. If you do this, you put all of us at risk,” he stated.
