Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, has disclosed that her late father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, on her sickbed predicted the family feud, divisions and legal battles that followed his death.

Adwoa Safo revealed that Apostle Kwadwo Safo repeatedly warned her about the challenges ahead months before his death.

According to Adwoa Safo, the family initially did not take his words seriously.

Speaking during a visit to NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s residence to thank him for attending her late father’s thanksgiving service, Adwoa Safo made this known.

Adwoa Safo stated, “My father said it before dying. Everything that happened, it followed in sequence. None of the prophecies didn’t even fail”.

She added that Apostle Safo, while on his sickbed, looked at her and warned: “Awo, there is a big battle ahead of you. I know you will be able to fight and win.”

She further revealed that her father also predicted that the church would be divided and that people would take sides.

According to her, the family only fully understood his warnings after his death, when disputes began to emerge.

Adwoa Safo also attributed her father’s guidance and wisdom to helping the family navigate the challenges that followed his death.

The former MP highlighted that the dispute was partly rooted in Akan customary practices, particularly the role of the matrilineal family in funeral arrangements.

“I had to consistently tell people it is the matrilineal family that is in charge of the burial, even though people were telling me I am the child and supposed to bury my father,” she said.

Also, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia commended Sarah Adwoa Safo for her role in ensuring that her father’s funeral was held despite the disputes surrounding it.

Dr Bawumia commended Adwoa Safo for standing his ground to ensure that the funeral proceeded, although several issues arose in connection with the funeral of the late leader of the Kristo Asafo Church.

Speaking during a courtesy call paid to him on August 21, 2026, Dr Bawumia also described Adwoa Safo as a Woman King.

Dr Bawumia stated, “The issues that came up got us all worried, but I want to commend you for standing up to conduct the funeral. Thank you for what you did. They say you are a woman king.

I also came for the thanksgiving service, and we all saw the rainbow, so we know that Apostle is happy,” he said.

In related news, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, the Leader of Kristo Asafo Mission, has issued an apology to Ghanaians over the brouhaha surrounding the Kantanka family following the death of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

According to Akofena, he would not point fingers at anyone over what happened, adding that everyone involved had a role to play.

He expressed regret over the situation, adding that he had to apologise to the public because of the respect and honour his father deserved

Speaking in an interview on Onua FM, Akofena stated, “I am on my knees apologising to all Ghanaians for disgracing my dad. Our father does not deserve this”.

“I will not blame anyone because, in one way or another, we are all at fault. I sincerely ask all Ghanaians for forgiveness,” he added.

Akofena added, “I have no intention of escalating issues or causing harm to any of my blood relations because it goes against my beliefs as a man and everything my father instilled in and entrusted to me”.

He further highlighted that nobody should view the situation as a competition between him and his sister, former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo.

Akofena added, “Nobody wins in this matter, not Adwoa Safo or me. At the end of the day, Kantanka is the only one who can win. This is not a competition where we can declare who wins”.

“If people are fighting themselves because of our family matter, they are worrying themselves because when they see us vibing as siblings, they would be amazed because blood is blood,” he said.

He added, “Whatever is going on, something similar has happened in other families before, and so it’s not the first time,” he noted.

When questioned about issues surrounding his father’s funeral, and whether a second funeral might take place, Akofena stated, “With regards to my father’s funeral, I will not say anything about it now”.
