Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, a Ghanaian satirist and talk show host, has said his work is a sacrifice for nation-building.
According to KSM, his advocacy for nation-building is not motivated by any financial benefits from the NDC government, dismissing claims that he is on the NDC government payroll.
KSM argued that people who dedicate themselves to national development should not automatically be assumed to be doing so because they are being paid by politicians.
Speaking on his programme, KSM expressed disappointment that some people, including individuals he regarded as intelligent, claim that he benefited financially from certain quarters because of his advocacy.
KSM on his show debunked the rumours, saying, “Sometimes people don’t understand those of us who are looking for nation-building. People think it’s a money issue. Let me clear this up: there are people who I thought were even more intelligent than me. People who are like my colleagues, who will say, KSM, now the NDC have given you block, which means they have paid meen boom”.
“I said, coming from you, I am very surprised. I would have thought your education and your level of intelligence would let you know that there are people who understand the sacrifice that they should make for this nation,” he said.
KSM added: “Trust me, when you’re sacrificing, you’re not begging for money. We are not here every day to flap and talk about building Ghana because we are on payroll,” he said.
“That we are on a payroll, whose payroll? Who can pay us, please? Give us a little respect,” he said.
“I know most of you do, so I’m not talking to you. I’m sorry. I’m talking to the few ones out there who think that… Please, nothing of that sort has happened, and nothing of that sort will ever happen,” he said.
He further shared an account of his working relationship with his producer to illustrate what he described as the commitment behind their work.
According to KSM, his producer had previously considered opportunities outside Ghana in Canada but eventually chose to remain in the country and work with him on developing the programme.
“He says he’d rather stay here; let’s work together and build. And we’re very confident that something will come out of this,” he added.
“So folks, I just want to dispel that before I continue,” he said.
KSM further stressed that financial inducement had never been the motivation behind his advocacy.

His honesty can’t be challenged… I know him so well bcos I have been with him before … he taught me time management he taught me determination, humility etc .. he is not a man you can fool around with, he has gotten it all in life what else does he want … it’s only the zombies who will talk rubbish at him… but the thing about him is that the more you talk about him the more he will talk n make you useless 😂😂😂
