Following the arrest of five robbers who killed a 40-year-old gold buyer, Seth Kobina, at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta, CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced on social media.
In the viral CCTV footage, one of the suspects was seen chatting with the gold dealer inside his shop when suddenly another suspect entered the shop holding a handgun, which he pointed at the dealer.
The first suspect then walks towards the door, opens it and closes it again, with the suspect holding the gun ordering the dealer to hand over some of the items in the shop.
The gold dealer then takes out a bunch of keys, opens one of the drawers and retrieves an item believed to be gold before handing it over to the armed robber.
However, the suspects appear to demand more items, prompting the dealer to show them his hands, indicating that there was nothing else in the shop.
He then moved towards the robber before he was shot in the chest.
Meanwhile, the Western Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of a 40-year-old gold buyer at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region.
The deceased gold buyer has been identified as Seth Kobina, who was shot in the chest during an attack on his gold-buying shop on Thursday, August 20.
The Police disclosed that the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. when armed men attacked the shop and shot Mr Kobina.
The deceased was rushed to the Agona Nkwanta Hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Western Regional Police Command has arrested five (5) suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of a 40-year-old gold buyer, Seth Kobina, at Agona Fie near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region
On 20th August 2026 at about 8:00 p.m., some armed men attacked a gold buying shop and shot the owner in the chest. He was rushed to the Agona Nkwanta Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Preliminary investigations and CCTV footage identified suspect Emmanuel Amponsah alias “Vandam”, 29, as the alleged leader of the gang.
On 21st August 2026, suspect Amponsah was arrested at a guest house in Agona Nkwanta. A search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally manufactured pistol and two live BB cartridges. He was subsequently taken ill and was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Further investigations led to the arrest of suspects Christopher Seyiri alias “Cross and Die”, 47; Bashiru Ibrahim, 20; and Thomas Odoom alias “Wale”, 30, within the Agona Nkwanta area. Another suspect, Isaac Quayeson alias “Last Burial”, was arrested at Denkyira Kwaboso in the Western North Region. A search of his residence led to the recovery of a locally manufactured pistol, three live BB cartridges, a metal bar and two cutlasses.
During investigations, suspect Quayeson identified suspect Amponsah as the person who shot and killed the deceased and also identified suspect Odoom as one of the suspects captured in the CCTV footage.
The suspects are assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other accomplices connected to the robbery and murder”.
